Abstract:
Provided is a catalyst article for simultaneously remediating the nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter, and gaseous hydrocarbons present in diesel engine exhaust streams. The catalyst article has a soot filter coated with a material effective in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of NOx by a reductant, e.g., ammonia.
Abstract:
An ammonia generating device for treating exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, notably of automobile vehicles, includes a reservoir having a body capable of releasing ammonia by desorption and a heating device positioned inside the reservoir to heat the body in the reservoir. The heating device comprises a heat generating element that has an elongated form. The heating device further includes at least one heat transfer feature laid out along an axial direction of the heat generating element and extending in a direction radial to the heat generating element.

Abstract:
An aftertreatment subsystem includes first and second mounting interfaces, a fluid inlet and fluid outlet interface, and aftertreatment components, each having a central axis and axial extent. The central axes for the aftertreatment components are substantially parallel. End caps define fluid chambers that fluidly couple upstream aftertreatment component outlets with downstream aftertreatment components inlets. The end caps are positioned at a first or second end of the aftertreatment components. A first bracket joins the aftertreatment components at an axial position closer to the first end than to a center of the axial extent of any of the aftertreatment components and a second bracket joins the aftertreatment components at an axial position closer to the second end than to the center of the axial extent of any of the aftertreatment components. The first mounting interface is on the first bracket, and the second mounting interface is on the second bracket.
Abstract:
A system includes a catalytic reactor configured to mount to a combustor. The catalytic reactor includes a catalyst configured to reduce emissions associated with combustion in the combustor. The catalytic reactor also includes a first and a second sacrificial coating disposed over the catalyst prior to mounting of the catalytic reactor into the combustor, wherein the first and second sacrificial coatings are removable while the catalytic reactor is mounted to the combustor without damaging the catalyst.
Abstract:
A reactor core for use in a chemical reactor includes first and second reactor core sections. Each core section includes heat transfer fluid conduits extending through the core section in a first direction, the lengths of the conduits defining a core section width. Each core section further includes spaced apart parallel plates arranged into a plate stack, with the conduits extending through the stack. Surfaces of the plates have a catalyst coating applied to them. The plates are rectangular and define a core section depth and a core section length, the core section depth being substantially smaller than both the core section width and length. Channels are defined by the spaces between adjacent plates, and are open to flow through the reactor core section in both the core section depth and length directions. The first core section is adjacent to the second core section in the depth direction.
Abstract:
The catalyst module is designed for use in an emission control system of a stationary incinerator. It comprises a stack frame, into which several mounting units are inserted strung together. The mounting units have a peripheral side wall as well as several partitions, which are entangled with one another and form a lattice with a plurality of mounting shafts, in which in each case one catalyst is inserted. The catalysts are pressed into position preferably with the interposition of an elastic fitting element.
