Abstract: Chemical deposition reactor assembly configured for formation of coatings on surfaces of fluid-permeable materials, such as porous materials, by chemical deposition is provided, the reactor assembly includes a reaction chamber configured to receive, at least in part, a fluid-permeable substrate with a target surface to be coated; at least one reactive fluid intake line configured to mediate a flow of reactive fluid into the reaction chamber, and an inert fluid delivery arrangement with at least one enclosed section configured to mediate a flow of inert fluid through the substrate towards its' target surface such, that at the surface the flow of inert fluid encounters the flow of reactive fluid, whereby a coating is formed at the target surface of the fluid-permeable substrate.

Abstract: A method for coating the lumen of a tube comprises the steps of inserting the distal opening of a tube into a first coating solution, drawing the first coating solution into the lumen of the tube, draining the first coating solution from the lumen leaving a film of the first coating solution on the lumen of the tube, and curing the first coating solution. This leaves a first coating on the lumen of the tube. A coating apparatus comprises a pallet, and one or more dip funnels. The pallet comprises a manifold and is configured to fluidically connect the manifold to one or more tubes. The one or more dip funnels are configured to hold a coating solution and are located below the pallet so that when the pallet is moved vertically, the one or more tubes are inserted into the dip funnels.

A substrate coating apparatus comprises: a source of a washcoat; a washcoat showerhead for discharging the washcoat towards an upper surface of a substrate; a conduit fluidly connecting the source of the washcoat to the washcoat showerhead for supplying washcoat to the washcoat showerhead; a headset for engaging the substrate to locate the upper surface of the substrate below the washcoat showerhead; and a vacuum generator for drawing the washcoat discharged from the washcoat showerhead through the substrate. The headset comprises a headset seal for engaging against the substrate. The headset seal comprises a perimetral portion that extends around the headset and a cantilevered portion that extends down from the perimetral portion and which is configured to engage against a sidewall of the substrate.
