    摘要: The present disclosure includes a cutting apparatus for cutting a strap to a desired length. The cutting apparatus includes a handle body with first and second handles and a head affixed to the handle body. The head includes an attachment mechanism to allow a strap to be cut to be releasably secured to a first end the head. The cutting apparatus further includes a blade disposed proximate to a second end of the head. The length of the head or the distance between the first end of the head and the blade approximates a device body length. The present disclosure further includes a method of using a handheld cutting apparatus for cutting a strap to a desired length, such that the combined length of the strap and a device to be attached to an object, approximates the circumference of the object.

    摘要: A sheet is cut between a first conveying unit and a second conveying unit in a state in which the first and second conveying units halt and in which an upstream conveying unit conveys the sheet at a first speed; after the sheet is cut, the first conveying unit conveys the sheet at a second speed higher than the first speed to reduce a slack formed during the halting; after the sheet is cut, the second conveying unit conveys the downstream-side sheet at a third speed higher than the first speed; if the third conveying unit is nipping the sheet during cutting, the third conveying unit conveys the sheet at the third speed; and if the third conveying unit is not nipping the sheet, the third conveying unit conveys the sheet at the third speed or a fourth speed after the detecting unit detects the sheet.

    摘要: A chemical etched die to be used in combination with a (e.g., roller) press to cut out shapes that are printed on sheet material. The die includes an outside border that surrounds an inside opening through the die. The size of the inside opening corresponds to the size of the shape to be cut. A cutting edge (i.e., blade) projects from the outside border of the die so as to surround the inside opening therethrough. The cutting edge is positioned at the interface of the outside border and the inside opening of the die whereby none of the outside border extends past the cutting edge and none of the outside border lies between the cutting edge and the inside opening. Accordingly, the cutting edge of the die will be exactly registered with the printed shape to be cut when the shape is surrounded by the outside border of the die.

The thickness, flexibility and tensile strength of the construct is such as to allow it to be shaped and contoured without damage to it. The composition is ultimately remodeled by the body, thus obviating the need for additional surgical intervention. The clinical indications for the use of the invented construct are many, but are particularly prominent in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery and implantology. It is particularly useful in the maxillary sinus augmentation. A unique new method, different from previously described methods for the preparation of the disclosed constructs, is described.
