摘要: An apparatus for collecting dust from a cutting unit is provided. The apparatus includes a rotary valve operatively connected to the cutting unit, a conduit in fluid communication with the rotary valve, and a compacting machine disposed downstream from the conduit and configured to receive dust from the conduit. A blower is configured to pull air downstream to carry the dust into the compacting machine. The compacting machine produces a compact from the dust.

摘要: An indexable plenum and a method of using the plenum to collect dust and/or debris during a cutting or milling process are disclosed. The plenum, when attached to the spindle nose of a conventional machine, enables the conventional machine that does not have a hollow spindle nose to be used with a hollow or conventional solid cutter to remove dust and/or debris generated during the cutting process. The indexable plenum comprises a hollow body and a base plate. Hollow bodies of different shape and size that are able to fit differently shaped and sized cutters are disclosed. The hollow bodies can be designed to releasably engage with the same base plate such that when the base plate is attached to the machine spindle nose, hollow bodies can be exchanged during a milling or cutting process to accommodate correspondingly shaped/sized cutters. In various embodiments, the object that is cut or milled is low density foam.

摘要: The wear status of a micro-endmill tool may be inferred by monitoring the chip production rate of the tool in operation. Chips may be extracted from a work area, captured on an adhesive surface, imaged, and counted to determine the chip production rate. When the rate of chip production falls, the feed rate of the micro-endmill may be modified to a level suitable for the current state of tool wear. In this manner, costly and inconvenient work stoppages to evaluate the wear status of a tool are eliminated.

The wall extends from a top to a bottom of the shell and has an inner face. The inner face is tackified, such that the inner face is configured to sequester debris on the inner face of the shell. The top and the bottom are open, defining respective perimeters. A fastener is coupled to the bottom and extends around the perimeter of the bottom. The fastener is configured to sealably couple the shell to a chuck end of a rotary tool. The shell is positioned around a cutting tool secured in the chuck of the rotary tool. The inner face is tackified to sequester debris generated during operation of the rotary tool.

摘要: A dust-collecting device adaptive to a power drill comprises a container having atop a tapered portion, the tapered portion including an opening, the container having a through hole at bottom, and a positioning seat being raised around the through hole; a shaft assembly passing through the through hole, the shaft assembly having at least one bearing received in the positioning seat; a spring member being mounted around the shaft assembly; and a spacing member being coupled to one end of the spring member, the spacing member having a round hole for a bit of the power drill to pass therethrough and then pass through the shaft assembly and the opening, whereby, when the power drill drills, drill dust thus generated is guided by a taper of the tapered portion and converged in the container.

摘要: A vacuum device for a drilling hand tool includes a housing, a connection piece, a blower, and a collecting vessel. A drilling tool can be plugged into and through the connection device along a working axis. The blower conveys dust-laden air from the connection piece into the collecting vessel. The connection vessel includes a tray cartridge which can be removed from the housing, and a locking bar. The locking bar is hinged on the tray cartridge or on the housing and can pivot between a locking position and an unlocked position. When the locking bar is in the locking position, it presses the tray cartridge against the housing to provide pretensioning.

The dust collecting attachment is used on a power tool having an operating member for removal and/or bit angle setting of a tool bit coupled to a front end region of a tool body. The dust collecting attachment has a dust collecting member which can be attached to the front end region of the tool body. The dust collecting member has an opening formed in a region which faces the operating member in the state in which the dust collecting member is attached to the tool body, and the operating member can be operated by user's finger through the opening.
