摘要: A cutting tool includes a base body and a cutting head at least partially disposed within a modular pocket of the base body. The modular pocket is formed by at least one wall section removably attached to the base body. In one variation, a non-removable portion of the base body also forms part of the modular pocket. In another variation, the modular pocket is formed by two removable wall sections on opposite sides of the modular pocket. In yet another variation, the removable wall sections include a clamping portion to exert a downward force on the cutting head to enable mounting the cutting head in the modular pocket using an interference fit.

An outer spring element end is immovably fixed to a first cavity end at the longitudinal axis, and an inner spring element end is immovably fixed to the first tuning mass end at the longitudinal axis.

摘要: A boring tool includes a coupling portion, a shank, and a cutting portion. The shank further includes a torsion release neck, having a smaller diameter cross section than a first end of the shank and a second end of the shank, a first transition to the first end of the shank, and a second transition to the second end of the shank. A torsion release neck has a lower polar moment of inertia than other portions of the boring tool so that it may guide torsional loading and shear stresses in the boring tool away from the cutting and coupling portions to improve the durability of the boring tool as a whole.

摘要: An orthopedic screw extractor device including a shaft, an end portion about a first end of the shaft for securing to a handle, and a screw extracting tip about a second end of the shaft opposite the first end. The screw extracting tip further includes a generally frustoconical shape having a side at an angle of about 5 to 15 degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of the screw extracting tip. The screw extracting tip further includes first, second and third screw threads and first, second and third flutes circumferentially spaced about the screw extracting tip and extending across an entire length of the screw extracting tip. Each of the screw threads has a lead of about 0.07 to 0.12 inches, a pitch of about 0.02 to 0.04 inches, a thread angle of about 40 to 50 degrees, and a depth of about 0.01 to 0.02 inches.

摘要: The helical tunneling device is a tool for tunneling along helical or spiral paths. Further, the tool may be used as a fixation device along helical/spiral paths, for connecting different surfaces or joints. Furthermore, the device includes associated instrumentation needed for creating such a helical path. In one embodiment, the device uses a woven flexible shaft in a helical tube to transmit rotational motion to a cutting tool. The helical tube may then be rotated independently to advance the cutting tool along a helical trajectory. In another embodiment, the device may advance helically into the created tunnel to engage, couple, and fix the relative positions of both bodies through which a continuous helical tunnel is created. Thus, the helical tunneling device is a simple and efficient tool that may be beneficial for wood working, orthopedics, metal manufacturing etc.
