    摘要: A method and apparatus for determining wear and tear in machines includes a method that determines a voltage draw and/or a current draw of a first subsystem of the machine during its operation, and wear and tear present in a second machine subsystem is determined based on the draw determined in the first subsystem. In one embodiment, a coal grinding machine includes a drive, a coal grinding mill driven by the drive, a device for determining an electrical draw of a current and/or voltage draw of the drive during operation, and a device for inferring wear and tear present in the coal grinding mill on the basis of voltage and/or current draw determined in the drive. The machine can include a device for inferring the quality or type of material (like coal) being processed in the mill based on the draw determined in the drive.

With the above configuration, the load meter is computed in such a manner as to accurately indicate the load condition of a motor in real time over the entire speed range of the motor including the nonlinear control region of the motor, and the motor is controlled using the thus computed value or the computed value is displayed on a display unit.

    摘要: The invention provides a NC unit provided with an ultrasonically oscillating tool, capable of indenting pits at equal pitches and detecting an amount of wastage of a stylus. In the NC unit, a PLL circuit outputs an ultrasonic signal S at a frequency equivalent to the resonant frequency of the ultrasonically oscillating tool and the frequency of the output signal S undergoes changes following up any change in the resonant frequency due to wear and tear of the stylus. Accordingly, the frequency of the output signal S has a value corresponding to the amount of wastage of the stylus. A frequency detection circuit 40 detects the frequency of the output signal S, and delivers data indicating the frequency to a CPU. When applying a process for indenting pits at equal pitches, the CPU changes over a synchronizing/changeover circuit so as to deliver the output signal S from the PLL circuit to an interpolative operation circuit. This will cause traveling velocities of respective motors to be synchronized with an oscillation speed of the stylus of the ultrasonically oscillating tool thus enabling indentation of the pits at equal pitches.

    摘要: A system is provided for predicting when the failure of a rotating machineool or part is imminent or when a tool is worn. The system includes a transducer for producing an output related to the workpiece vibrations caused by the machine tool and an analog comparator which compares this output with a threshold signal related to the normal operation of the tool and established by a microcomputer which determines whether further signals which exceed the threshold are produced during each of a predetermined number of subsequent time intervals related to the rotational speed of the tool. If so, a "failure" signal is produced which may be used, for example, to cause retraction of the tool.
