Abstract: A device for controlling lights that are placed in a random fashion on an object or surface and easily synchronized to form a pattern of illumination is disclosed. The device includes a combination of lights, each with the separate ability to be turned on or off in a timed fashion and further may include the ability to change color or intensity. The process for synchronizing the lights including the steps of recognizing the order of lights on the object via a camera, overlaying a pattern desired upon the image captured by the actuation of each of the lights, determining the color, intensity, and frequency of lighting of each of the lights required based on the overlayed image so as to create a lighting actuation algorithm, transmitting part or all of the information of the control algorithm to each of the lights, and further operating the complete system through a common time.

Abstract: A system and a method for automatically creating and operating a functional association of multiple luminaires is proposed. The system consists of two or more devices that each contain one or more sensors, logic processing circuitry and communication circuitry that is able to transmit messages between devices. The set of devices that constitute the members of a functional association is selected from a larger set of candidate devices. The selection process involves each device comparing the sensor data received from neighbouring devices relating to occupancy and daylight sensors against the device's occupancy and daylight sensor data.

Abstract: An illumination system includes an alert unit connected to a control device. During work to connect the illumination equipment to the relay, the control device searches whether or not the illumination equipment is connected, through the relay; when the connection of the illumination equipment is detected, sends an inquiry on a type of the illumination equipment to the illumination equipment and acquires information on the type of the illumination equipment; when the information on the type of the illumination equipment is the same as the planned connection equipment type stored in advance, sets an identification number for the illumination equipment connected to the control device; and, when the information on the type of the illumination equipment differs from the planned connection equipment type stored in advance, causes the alert unit to generate a first alert.

Abstract: Various embodiments relate to an apparatus for controlling a lighting device. A light control circuit can use a controlled lighting sequence control and drive viewed sections of a lighting device to display chroma key color or emit infrared light, while driving other unviewed portions of the lighting device to display ambient and incident lighting. The viewed and unviewed lighting sections can be based on the field of vision of an image capture device and can change in relation to movements of the image capture device. A sensor can make measurements to determine to field of vision of the image capture device and can be used to generate or modify the controlled lighting sequence. An image processing circuit can generate a composite image using the chroma key while maintaining the subjects that are captured using ambient and incident lighting.

Abstract: A lighting system having a plurality of lighting devices electrically connected thereto includes a control unit connected lighting devices and adapted to individually control the switching on of each lighting device according to a predetermined lighting program, and a user device adapted to communicate with the control unit and having a camera that acquires a sequence of images of the surrounding environment. The control unit implements a system configuration step that activates each lighting device according to a respective switching-on sequence, and the user device analyzes the sequence of images acquired during the system configuration step to determine the spatial position and/or identification code of each lighting device, and sends corresponding information to the control unit. The control unit is also adapted to implement a lighting program that considers the spatial positions of the lighting devices determined by the user device.

Abstract: A method includes retrieving a current lighting state of at least one luminaire. The lighting state includes light intensity of the at least one luminaire. The method also includes retrieving a sensor state of at least one sensor and determining a next selectable lighting state available for the at least one luminaire and an illumination adjustment for a user interface element of a lighting control device configured to control the luminaire. The determining of the next selectable lighting state available includes comparing the current lighting state and the sensor state to a set of intelligent backlighting rules, and based on the comparison, determining an indicator state corresponding to the illumination adjustment to the user interface element of the lighting control device. The illumination adjustment produces visible output to the user via the user interface element as a visible cue to guide the user to select the next lighting state.

Abstract: Lighting methods and systems to enhance the browsing behaviors of shoppers in a manner intended to be primarily subconscious include illumination of a targeted area, such as a typical retail display, with a tunable spectrum lamp that slowly cycles through different illumination spectra such that color rendering of illuminated target is deliberately varied for subtle arousal of the visual senses. The illumination spectra, and the rates at which spectral conditions are changed, are both chosen as such that multi-colored objects in the targeted area change in appearance in a barely noticeable way, such that shoppers may find their visual attention redirected, seemingly at random, to a wider variety of products on display. Color spectrum changes also may be controlled in coordination with predefined packaging colors to create quasi-animation effects.

Abstract: A remote follow spot system includes a remote controller that has separately movable parts that are movable in two orthogonal directions, and a display attached to one of said two separately movable parts. The display receives a video feed from a controlled light, that is controlled to move in the same directions as remote controller. The display hence shows the field of view where the light is pointing. In this way, an operator of the follow spot can control the light without physically being near the light.
