Abstract: A lighting device comprising at least three LED chains, each LED chain including a plurality of LED light sources separated from each other along the LED chain, wherein the LED light sources of each LED chain are electrically connected to a common drive signal line, wherein the light sources of the at least three LED chains are substantially evenly and non-symmetrically distributed over a light area, and a controller configured to apply a different drive signal to each drive signal line, wherein each drive signal is time varying so as to cause a time variation of at least one property of light emitted from the LED light sources. By applying different, and dynamically changing drive signals to the three groups, lighting effects resembling those occurring in nature can be accomplished, at a fraction of the costs of a pixelated and addressable device.

The first and second groups of light sources are each individually controllable. The first and second groups of light sources are both arranged for emitting light from a space on one side of the one or more light collectors. The illumination device is arranged so that light emitted from the second group of light sources through the one or more light collectors defines a pattern comprising one or more elongated elements.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for keeping rats and similar pests away without trapping or killing them. It provides a long-life battery powered LED light system for deterring rats, mice and other nocturnal animals. Embodiments of the present invention are designed to operate continuously for at least one year between battery changes. Embodiments have been proven to deter rats from invading engine compartments of parked motor vehicles, vegetable gardens, attics, garages and outdoor patios. In preferred embodiments the wavelengths of the LEDs are chosen to correspond to the known wavelength sensitivity peaks of the eyes of rats, mice, and other rodents. This new technology transcends traps.

Abstract: A luminaire includes: a light source configured to emit light in a plurality of different colors; a controller that controls the color of the light emitted by the light source; and a plurality of buttons that correspond one-to-one with the plurality of different colors and are operated by a user to cause the light source to emit light. Each time one of the buttons is operated, the controller stores a control parameter associating the color corresponding to the button operated with a sequence value indicating a sequential order in which the button is selected. The controller changes the color of the light emitted by the light source in accordance with the colors and the sequential order indicated in the stored control parameter.

Abstract: A light exposure apparatus emits light which activates the body of the user. The light exposure apparatus includes a blue light source which emits blue light and a red light source which emits red light. The light includes blue light and red light. Blue light has a peak wavelength in a range from 445 nm to 500 nm. Red light has a peak wavelength in a range from 600 nm to 680 nm. The intensity of the peak wavelength of blue light is the strongest in the spectrum of the light, and the intensity of the peak wavelength of red light is the second strongest in the spectrum of the light. The relative intensity of the peak wavelength of the red light with respect to the peak wavelength of the blue light is in a range from 0.1 to 0.5 inclusive.
