Abstract: The present application discloses a method for caching data. The method includes: a controller calculates a local caching gain of first content for each forwarding device on the first content delivery path, wherein a local caching gain of the first content of an ith forwarding device is generated by calculation according to a first parameter and a popularity of the first content, and the first parameter is used for identifying bandwidth consumed by transmitting the first content between the ith forwarding device and the server. The controller obtains a first caching gain, wherein the first caching gain is a maximum value of local caching gains of all forwarding devices on the first content delivery path. The controller sends the first caching gain to the server and sends the local caching gain of the first content to the ith forwarding device.

Abstract: System and techniques for information centric network (ICN) implemented content data networks (CDNs) are described herein. A directive to initiate a cache operation for content may be received at a gateway of an ICN. An interest packet may be constructed based on the directive. The interest packet may be transmitted on the ICN and a response to the interest packet received. Here, the response has a payload that corresponds to the content. The payload then may be cached at a local repository of the gateway.

The method further includes, requesting the content from a content node using the network address.

Abstract: A system and method for implementing functionality within a network on behalf of first and second devices communicating with each other through the network. A front-end device is provided within the network that communicates data traffic with the first device. A back-end device is also implemented within the network and communicates data traffic with the second device. A communication channel couples the front-end device and the back-end device. Data traffic may be encoded into a different type or protocol for transport through the communication channel by the front-end device and back-end device. The front-end device and back-end device exchange quality of service information and may alter characteristics of the data traffic through the communication channel according to the quality of service information.

Abstract: Some embodiments modify caching server operation to evict cached content based on a deterministic and multifactor modeling of the cached content. The modeling produces eviction scores for the cached items. The eviction scores are derived from two or more factors of age, size, cost, and content type. The eviction scores determine what content is to be evicted based on the two or more factors included in the eviction score derivation. The eviction scores modify caching server eviction operation for specific traffic or content patterns. The eviction scores further modify caching server eviction operation for granular control over an item's lifetime on cache.

Abstract: In systems and computer-implemented methods for personal data transmission from a source computing device to a target computing device with improved data protection, the source computing device receives the personal data of a particular individual including one or more digital representations or more physical items. The physical items belong to an item selection of the particular individual. The source device generates a local data structure and stores the one or more digital representations in the local data structure. Upon receipt of a transmission request, a copy of the local data structure is sent to a buffer system and the local data structure is deleted from the source computing device. The target computing device receives login credentials from a user to access the target computing device, wherein the login credentials include a secret associated with the local data structure. The user is authenticated to grant access to the target computing device based on the received login credentials. The target computing device sends a retrieval request to the buffer system wherein the retrieval request is generated based on the login credentials to request the retrieval of the buffered data structure. In response to the retrieval request the target computing device receives a copy of the buffered data structure and grants access to the received data structure for the authenticated user, wherein the received data structure remains the only persisted copy of the data structure.

Abstract: A request is received, from a tenant by a cluster management proxy, to perform a cluster management operation of a cluster that is storing data from multiple tenants that include the tenant. In response to determining that the request is within a group of admissible cluster management requests for the cluster, the request is modified, by the cluster management proxy, to restrict access of the cluster management operation based on an identity of the tenant. The cluster is accessed, by the cluster management proxy, based on the modified request that has restricted access of the cluster management operation. In response to determining that the request is not within the group, the request is tunneled to a Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) assigned to the tenant. The SVM is configured to access the cluster based on the request.

Abstract: A routing device capable of performing application layer data caching is described. Application data caching at a routing device can alleviate the bottleneck that an application data host may experience during high demands for application data. Requests for the application data can also be fulfilled faster by eliminating the network delays for communicating with the application data host. The techniques described can also be used to perform analysis of the underlying application data in the network traffic transiting though a routing device.
