A circuit with Miller compensation effect includes a first stage and a second stage, with a first terminal for receiving a bias current and a second terminal that can be coupled to ground, wherein the first stage includes a differential stage coupled via a coupling line to the second stage. The second stage includes a transistor with a Miller compensation network, which is set between the first terminal of the second stage and the control terminal of the aforesaid transistor. A compensation-control transistor, which is coupled to the second terminal of said differential stage, can be activated for coupling the aforesaid second terminal to ground, the compensation-control transistor having its control terminal coupled to the aforesaid coupling line between the first and second stages.

The invention includes methods and systems for providing a multi-path common mode feedback loop in an amplifier system. Embodiments include techniques for dividing a common mode feedback current path to provide a slow common mode feedback current path and a fast common mode feedback current path. The slow and fast paths are configured for controlling common mode feedback current within a small bandwidth.

A translinear amplifier is disclosed. A loop amplifier drives the bases of the input and output transistor pairs from the differential collector voltage of the input pair. The loop amplifier contains a third differential pair (a gain pair). The tail current of the gain pair is inversely related to the tail current of the input pair, such that loop amplifier gain remains stable when the transconductance of the input pair changes (due, e.g., to input gain changes). In one embodiment, a linear-in-dB interface is provided that adjusts input pair tail current exponentially (and gain pair tail current exponentially and inversely) to linear voltage changes at a gain input.

An amplifier circuit a differential input stage coupled to a first input and to a second input between which a differential input voltage is present. A converter stage is coupled to the input stage to convert the differential input voltage into a converted voltage. An output stage is coupled to the converter stage and generates, starting from the converted voltage, an output voltage on a single output of the amplifier circuit. A biasing stage is coupled to the input stage and to the output stage to supply a biasing current. A chopper module reduces a contribution of offset and noise associated with the output voltage. The chopper module is coupled to the input stage, converter stage, and to the biasing stage. The chopper module includes an input chopper stage, a converter chopper stage, and a biasing chopper stage that operate jointly under control of a chopper signal.

An operational amplifier is provided. The operational amplifier includes a first transistor configured to receive a first input voltage, a second transistor configured to receive a second input voltage, and a current steering module coupled to first and second transistors and configured to receive a reference voltage. The first and second transistors form a differential pair. The first transistor, second transistor, and current steering module are configured such that a current is steered from the current steering module or to the current steering module based on common-mode voltages of the first and second input voltages and the reference voltage to set a common-mode output voltage of the operational amplifier.

An analog circuit includes a first circuit including a first-type operational amplifier of which a frequency of an amplification target signal is a first frequency, and a second circuit including a second-type operational amplifier of which a frequency of an amplification target signal is a second frequency lower than the first frequency. When a channel width and a channel length of a differential-stage transistor of a differential section of the first-type operational amplifier are respectively referred to as W1a and L1a, a bias current flowing through the differential section is referred to as Ia, a channel width and a channel length of a differential-stage transistor of a differential section of the second-type operational amplifier are respectively referred to as W1b and L1b, and a bias current flowing through the differential section is referred to as Ib, W1b×L1b>W1a×L1a and Ia>Ib are satisfied.

A subtractor circuit which provides, at an output, a signal that is proportional to the difference, which is applied to the input, between two signal levels is specified. Formed at the output of an operational amplifier of the subtractor circuit are two synchronous signal sources, one of which is used for feedback from one of the two identical outputs to an input of the operational amplifier. In accordance with the proposed principle, a feedback resistor which is normally present in analog subtractor circuits is avoided. The altered voltage swing at the output of the operational amplifier makes it possible to operate the latter without a negative supply voltage. The subtractor circuit described is particularly suited to power detection using an input-side power detector.

An operational amplifier of MOSFET elements is disclosed which provides for a variable drive for an output stage that results in lower power dissipation and increased gain factor over comparable circuits using constant bias drive for the output stage. A bias section comprised of complementary MOS elements is connected to a single MOSFET that furnishes constant current to the signal input section of a differential amplifier section. The output of this differential amplifier is furnished by one path directly to one complementary MOSFET element of a high impedance output stage and by another path to a level shift section which provides an output to a second complementary MOSFET element of the output stage. Thus, the circuit functions under class A-B operation at low power dissipation and provides high open loop gain. Additional embodiments of the invention utilize three MOSFET elements in the level shift section or an additional output stage having an NPN transistor in combination with an N-channel MOSFET.

A variable current trans-impedance amplifier (TIA) for an ultrasound device is described. The TIA may be coupled to an ultrasonic transducer to amplify an output signal of the ultrasonic transducer representing an ultrasound signal received by the ultrasonic transducer. During acquisition of the ultrasound signal by the ultrasonic transducer, one or more current sources in the TIA may be varied.
