摘要: We describe a touch sensitive holographic image display device for holographically projecting a touch sensitive image at an acute angle onto a surface on which the device is placed. The device includes holographic image projection optics comprising at least one coherent light source illuminating a spatial light modulator (SLM), output optics to project a hologram onto an acute angle surface, and a remote touch sensing system to remotely detect a touch of a location within or adjacent to the holographically displayed image. A control system is configured to provide data defining an image for display, to receive detected touch data, and to control the device responsive to remote detection of a touch of a the displayed image.

摘要: A hologram master having a hologram image recorded thereon is brought into intimate contact with a surface of a hologram recording medium containing a photosensitive material directly or via a refractive index adjuster. The hologram image is made to have continuous parallax in at least a first direction with a movement of an eyepoint along the first direction with respect to a normal line when the hologram master is illuminated at a predetermined angle. First laser light is applied onto the hologram master and the hologram recording medium via a diffusion plate configured to diffuse incident light in a second direction. Second laser light is applied onto the hologram recording medium via the hologram master simultaneously with the first laser light. The hologram image recorded on the hologram master and first additional information are recorded on the hologram recording medium.

摘要: A gray code encoding and decoding method applied to holographic storage devices is proposed. The encoding method uses gray levels of a 2D detector to encode a certain amount of original bits of the original data, and then sends them to a spatial light modulator (SLM) for encryption. The decoding method corrects the received gray levels to the original gray levels, and then compares the maximum gray level with the original gray levels to decode the original gray level into binary data. The proposed encoding and decoding method can better make use of storage locations of the 2D detector and get a code rate close to 1.

摘要: An updateable system and method of recording a hologram on a media simultaneously reduces the writing time and increases persistence without sacrificing diffraction efficiency. A voltage kick-off technique controls the bias electric field applied to a photorefractive polymer media in conjunction with the application of the writing beams and dark decay. Essentially the voltage kick-off technique applies a high electric field above the optimal field while the writing beams are on and reduces the electric field when the writing beams are off during dark decay. The voltage kick-off technique produced two separate unexpected results. First, when the writing beams are turned off and the electric field is lowered the diffraction efficiency continues to increase until it reaches a maximum efficiency that is within a few percent of that achieved by writing at the optimal field until steady-state is achieved. Second, the decay time constant is much larger than expected producing a much longer persistence without sacrificing diffraction efficiency or writing time.
