摘要: A method and apparatus for compressing hologram is disclosed. The apparatus includes memory to store one or more instructions, and one or more processors to execute the one or more instructions in the memory, wherein the one or more processors perform generating phase wavefront blocks using a frame of a phase-only hologram, generating a first prediction wavefront block using one of the phase wavefront blocks, generating a differential wavefront block using a phase wavefront block and the first prediction wavefront block, transforming and quantizing the differential wavefront block, generating a restored differential wavefront block by inversely quantizing and inversely transforming the differential wavefront block transformed and quantized, generating a restored phase wavefront block using the restored differential wavefront block, generating a restored phase wavefront using restored phase wavefront blocks generated using the restored differential wavefront blocks, and restoring the phase-only hologram using the restored phase wavefront.

摘要: There is provided a holographic projector comprising a processing engine, spatial light modulator (403B), light source (401B) and light-receiving surface (405B). The processing engine outputs a computer-generated diffractive pattern defining a propagation distance to an image plane. The spatial light modulator displays the computer-generated diffractive pattern. The light source illuminates the spatial light modulator at an angle of incidence (theta) greater than zero. The light-receiving surface receives spatially-modulated light from the spatial light modulator. The light-receiving surface is substantially parallel to the spatial light modulator (alpha-theta). The light-receiving surface is separated from the spatial light modulator by the propagation distance defined by the computer-generated diffractive pattern.

摘要: A holographic display and a method, performed by the holographic display, of forming a holographic image are disclosed. The holographic display includes an electrically addressable spatial light modulator (EASLM); a diffractive optical element (DOE) mask array arranged on the EASLM; and a controller configured to operate the holographic display to form a hologram image, wherein the controller is further configured to address the EASLM to backlight the DOE mask array required to form a set of hologram image voxels by turning on a corresponding EASLM pixel.

摘要: A novel projection system includes a light source, a phase modulator, an amplitude modulator, and a controller having temporal lightfield simulation capabilities. The phase modulator spatially modulates a lightfield from the light source to generate an intermediate image on the amplitude modulator. The amplitude modulator spatially modulates the intermediate image to form a final image. The controller models the phase state of the phase modulator during transitions between phase modulator frames and generates lightfield simulations of the intermediate image during the transition. The controller utilizes the lightfield simulations to generate and provide sets of amplitude drive values to the amplitude modulator at a faster rate than that at which the phase modulator is capable of switching.

In some aspects, a compact and cost effective particle detector device to measure the aerosol density and its size distribution by backscattered focusing using projected optical modified field distribution imaging into the aerosol medium (air). The disclosed device can be used in a variety of scientific and industrial applications, e.g., such as a particle sensor for automobiles able to detect harmful pollution which may then be filtered from the car cabin, or warnings provided to the driver. The device can also capture and store data, enabling detailed pollution maps of various roadways in real-time.

摘要: A single-channel phase conjugation apparatus includes a spatial light modulator and a single-channel optical sensing and generating unit. The spatial light modulator receives a light having a wavefront scattered by a scattering object. The single-channel optical sensing and generating unit senses a phase control wavefront of an output light focused by the spatial light modulator and outputs a light having a phase conjugation wavefront by changing a direction of the output light in a reverse direction depending on the phase control wavefront.

摘要: A printing device (106) includes a dynamic holography printing application configured to generate a laser control signal and a LCOS-SLM (Liquid Crystal on Silicon Spatial Light Modulator) control signal based on a two-dimensional content corresponding to a lithography mask. A laser source (110) generates a plurality of incident laser beams based on the laser control signal. A LCOS-SLM (112) modulates the plurality of incident laser beams based on the LCOS-SLM control signal, generates a plurality of holographic wavefronts (214,216), each holographic wavefront forming at least one corresponding focal point. The LCOS-SLM generates a plurality of distinct focused light field regions (506,508,510) at interference points of focal points of the plurality of holographic wavefronts. The plurality of distinct focused light field regions correspond to the two-dimensional content.
