摘要: This disclosure relates to refrigerant compressors, and, in particular, relates to cooling for the power electronics of such compressors. An example refrigerant system includes a main refrigerant loop in communication with a condenser, an evaporator, and a compressor. The refrigerant system further includes at least one cooling line configured to direct refrigerant from the main refrigerant loop to cool a chamber containing electronic components. A method is also disclosed.

摘要: A drive support unit of a turbo compressor includes at least one bearingless motor. The at least one bearingless motor includes a rotor-stator pair constituted by a rotor and a stator, and is configured to rotationally drive a drive shaft and to support a radial load of the drive shaft in a contactless manner. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a turbo compressor to which a bearingless motor is applied.

摘要: A method for operating a defrost mode of a transport refrigerant vapor compression system includes initiating a defrost operation for the transport refrigerant vapor compression system by energizing heaters operatively coupled to a heat absorption heat exchanger operable to defrost the heat absorption heat exchanger. During the defrost operation, the method includes comparing the heat absorption heat exchanger pressure to the first predetermined limit; in response to the heat absorption heat exchanger pressure being less than the first predetermined limit, performing at least one operation to determine if the defrost operation should be exited; and in response to the heat absorption heat exchanger pressure being greater than the first predetermined limit, exiting the defrost operation.

摘要: A method for starting and operating a plant for the liquefaction of a gaseous product comprising the steps of electrically connecting a variable frequency drive to a motor of a first machine string; increasing the speed of the motor of the first machine string up until a first predefined threshold; electrically disconnecting the variable frequency drive from the motor of the first machine string; electrically connecting the variable frequency drive to a motor of a second machine string; the first predefined threshold is function of said frequency of the power supply grid. The variable frequency drive can be switched during operation of the plant among the strings according to process requirements.

摘要: A refrigeration chiller employs a centrifugal compressor the impellers of which are mounted on a shaft which is itself mounted for rotation using rolling element bearings lubricated only by the refrigerant which constitutes the working fluid of the chiller system. Apparatus is taught for providing liquid refrigerant to (1.) the bearings immediately upon chiller start-up, during chiller operation and during a coastdown period subsequent to shutdown of the chiller and (2.) the drive motor of the chiller's compressor for motor cooling purposes. By use of a variable speed-driven motor to drive the compressor, optimized part load chiller performance is achieved in a chiller which does not require or employ an oil-based lubrication system.

摘要: A combined suction header and accumulator for a refrigeration system is described that may protect a compressor from refrigerant liquid entering the compressor while reducing superheat used to evaporate the refrigerant. The combined suction header and accumulator unit for a refrigeration system includes a suction header coupled to an exit side of an evaporator. The suction header includes a main body and receives a flow of refrigerant from the evaporator. The flow of refrigerant includes a liquid portion and a vapor portion. The combined suction header and accumulator unit includes a liquid accumulator disposed within the main body of the suction header. The liquid accumulator blocks the liquid portion of the flow of refrigerant from exiting the main body.
