Abstract: A control device controls a torque transmission device. The torque transmission device includes an actuator that operates by being energized and a torque transmission portion that is switched to a transmission state or a non-transmission state by the actuator operating, and transmits a torque between a first transmission portion and a second transmission portion when the torque transmission portion is in the transmission state. The control device includes a target calculation unit, a mode determination unit, and a control unit. The target calculation unit calculates a target transmission torque that is a torque to be transmitted between the first transmission portion and the second transmission portion. The mode determination unit determines an operating mode among an engagement mode, a release mode, and a steady mode. The control unit controls the actuator based on the operating mode determined by the mode determination unit.

Abstract: A clutch control device includes an engine, a gearbox, a clutch device configured to disconnect and connect power transmission between the engine and the gearbox, a clutch actuator configured to drive the clutch device and vary a clutch capacity, an engine rotational number sensor configured to detect an engine rotational number, a throttle opening angle sensor configured to detect a throttle opening angle, and a controller configured to calculate a control target value of the clutch capacity, wherein the controller calculates an estimated engine torque and causes the clutch device to change a slip clutch capacity according to the estimated engine torque.

Abstract: A method for controlling engagement of a power take-off (PTO) clutch of a work vehicle may generally include transmitting, by a computing device, a control signal associated with initiating engagement of the PTO clutch, determining a clutch slippage energy generated during engagement of the PTO clutch due to clutch slippage and, while the PTO clutch is getting engaged, calculating a clutch engagement time remaining until engagement of the PTO clutch is completed based on the clutch slippage energy and a maximum clutch engagement energy associated with the PTO clutch. In addition, the method may include determining a torque command for controlling engagement of the PTO clutch as a function of the remaining clutch engagement time and controlling the engagement of the PTO clutch based on the torque command.

Abstract: Systems and methods are shown for electrically controllably transmitting power from a motor involving electrically controllably coupling the first input hub to a shuttle so that power is transmitted from the first input hub to the shuttle, providing for one-way rotation between the shuttle and a stationary chassis, and coupling the shuttle to an output hub with a spring such that energy is stored and released from the spring as the output hub rotates. Examples are shown that include controlling engaged and disengaged time intervals of the first input hub and shuttle to maintain a torque level at the output hub, such as by utilizing pulse width modulation or pulse frequency modulation. Examples are also shown involving electroadhesively coupling the first input hub to the shuttle.

The resistive torque-generating device can include an integrated stator disk system including at least one metallic stator disk having a planar disk body, and at least one rotor disposed adjacent to the at least one metallic stator disk such that there are at least two shear areas formed by the at least one metallic stator disk and the at least one rotor; and magneto-rheological material disposed between portions of the at least one metallic stator disk and the at least one rotor. In some embodiments, the rotor(s) is/are a bent rotor(s), thereby providing for increased torque generation while fitting within tight space constraints.

Abstract: A method for controlling clutch pressure in an electronically controlled limited slip differential comprises receiving a target clutch pressure command indicative of a desired differential torque transfer setting. Processing the target clutch pressure command comprises estimating one of a motor current or a motor speed, calculating an integrated error of a target motor current or an integrated error of a target motor speed, calculating gains over time based on the estimated motor current or the estimated motor speed and based on the integrated error of the target motor current or the integrated error of the target motor speed, applying the calculated gains thereby forming a closed loop feedback, and calculating an oscillation. The target motor current or the target motor speed is applied to a motor connected to a clutch in the differential according to the calculated oscillation to control the clutch pressure of the differential.

Abstract: A control system, for a vehicle (Ve), comprises an electronic control unit (18) and a selectable one-way clutch (17). The electronic control unit (18) is configured to produce differential rotation in the selectable one-way clutch (17) by controlling the rotational speed by a motor (2), the differential rotation including positive differential rotation and negative differential rotation, the positive differential rotation being the relative rotation in a direction in which the relative rotation is restricted in an engaged state of the selectable one-way clutch (17), and the negative differential rotation being the relative rotation in a direction in which the relative rotation is permitted in an engaged state of the selectable one-way clutch (17), wherein the electronic control unit (1.) sets a first state of the selectable one-way clutch (17), and (2.) executes lock rotation control in which the differential rotation is maintained at positive differential rotation, in the case where the control unit (18) switches the selectable one-way clutch (17) from the disengaged state to the engaged state.

Abstract: A method for controlling a clutch includes judging whether or not a slip amount of the clutch is reduced to below a first reference value by a controller after starting of the vehicle is launched, judging whether or not accumulated slip energy of the clutch until a present time from the launch of starting the vehicle is a second reference value or more, as a result of judgment as to the slip amount of the clutch, if the slip amount of the clutch is below the first reference value, and controlling engagement of the clutch so as to prevent overheating of the clutch while the controller causes an engine to maintain a target engine speed, as a result of the judgment as to the accumulated slip energy, if the accumulated slip energy is the second reference value or more.
