A fuel injection device is used in an internal combustion engine having a combustion chamber partitioned by a cylinder head, a cylinder, and a piston crown surface so that at least one of the amount of NOx, Pmax, and a thermal efficiency η is maintained at a predetermined value. The fuel injection device includes a fuel injection change unit. The fuel injection change unit virtually divides the combustion chamber into N number of combustion zones where N is a natural number of 2 or more, and can change a fuel injection method according to the respective combustion zones. The fuel injection change unit divides the combustion chamber into the N number of combustion zones, thereby being capable of eliminating a difference of heat in the respective combustion zones, and precisely controlling an in-cylinder pressure P in the combustion chamber. As a result, the amount of NOx and the thermal efficiency can be optimized. Therefore, both of a reduction in the amount of NOx and the high thermal efficiency can be achieved.

A centrifugal conical-spray atomization device. A head portion of a needle valve is provided with a throttling guidance cone. A seat surface of the needle valve mates with seat surface of a spin chamber to open and close a spray hole in a pulsatory manner. A plurality of tangential holes are provided between a pressure chamber and a spin chamber. After being spun tangentially by the spin chamber, fuel is sprayed from a spray opening with a tangential force, forming a hollow umbrella-like fuel film without a compact fuel spray core. The umbrella-like fuel film has a controllable penetration distance and spins at a high speed in a combustion chamber. The centrifugal conical-spray atomization device not only exhibits a wide adjustable range of fuel flow, but is able to automatically open and close the spray hole, while carbon deposition would not easily form to block the spray hole.

The inventive subject matter provides apparatus, systems and methods for treating and delivering a fuel to a combustion chamber of an engine in order to improve efficiency of the engine. In one aspect of the invention, a fuel injector that cooperates with an internal combustion engine to combust a first fuel to produce power is presented. The fuel injector includes a fuel inlet, a pre-conditioning vortex chamber, and an excitation chamber. The fuel injector includes a vortex chamber that conforms a pulsed amount of the first fuel to produce a vortex that includes a coherent dynamic pressure wave. The fuel injector also includes an excitation mechanism that at least partially ignites the fuel.
