    摘要: An electric motor assisted airblast injector design for gas turbines is disclosed. The electric motor assisted airblast injector assembly consists of an airblast injector, a high speed electric motor and a compressor. The electric motor assisted airblast injector is designed to improve engine light-off and starting reliability without using a fuel staging system to incorporate pressure injectors. A high speed motor is activated during starting to drive a compressor for locally producing pressurized air without sacrificing combustor performance. The pressurized air exiting the air swirler with high velocity penetrates perpendicularly into the fuel spray cone obtained by orifices in the fuel swirler. The amount of pressurized air through the compressor is controlled by motor speed to match fuel starting schedule and produce fuel/air mixture within flammability limits. After engine starting, the high speed motor may cut off as sufficient air pressure differential is available across the combustor.

    摘要: The invention relates to a turbine engine combustion assembly (20), which includes: an annular flame tube (21) including a front wall (23), a rear wall (24) and a bottom (22) arranged facing an engine shaft (30); an injection wheel (41) rotated by said engine shaft (30), partially projecting into the bottom (22) of the flame tube (21) and configured such as to spray fuel into the flame tube by centrifugation; and at least one injector (35), capable of depositing a film of fuel on said injection wheel (41), said combustion assembly being characterised in that said injector (35) is arranged so as to pass through said upstream area of the front wall (23) or the rear wall (24) of the flame tube (21), so that the injection opening thereof (37) opens into said tube (21), opposite the portion (43) of said injection wheel (41) which is located inside said flame tube (21).

    摘要: A combustor for a small gas turbine engine in which a compressor discharges a swirling air flow into the combustor, and a fuel impeller is rotatably connected to the compressor and slings atomized fuel into the combustor in a direction to produce a stagnation zone within the combustor. A plurality of fuel injectors delivers fuel to the inlet end of the fuel impeller. The combustor outlet is a nozzle shape that produces a high enough pressure level in the swirl air flow such that the cooler air flows along the inner combustor wall to form an insulation layer from the hot combustor gas flow within the combustor. The fuel impeller produces a very fine mist of fuel and the stagnation zone produced results in easy starting of the engine and stable combustor burning.

    摘要: A combustion chamber device includes a combustion chamber and a rotatable cup-shaped fuel spreader arranged centrally therein. Liquid fuel is supplied to within said cup for being distributed therein and discharged therefrom and intermixed with an air stream supplied to said combustion chamber to form an air-fuel mixture which then is ignited. The spreader cup is located adjacent a combustion zone in the combustion chamber and provided with an enclosing insulation in the form of a layer of axially flowing air. According to the invention, the fuel spreader cup has a substantially straight and cylindrical inner surface with a circumferential shoulder or threshold adjacent the open end, said shoulder having a radial thickness sufficient for maintaining inside said spreader cup a fuel layer of required depth for obtaining a predetermined fuel supply volume in the cup. The spreader cup and the adjacent portions of the combustion chamber are shaped so as to provide around the rotary spreader cup a return-flow zone for the air-fuel-mixture in which is maintained a primary combustion zone, which pre-heats the cup so as to bring same to normally operate as vaporizer, while sufficient air is supplied to the air layer surrounding the cup for avoiding over-heating and boiling of the fuel in the cup.

    摘要: An oil burner wherein a rotary blower system supplies air to a stationary fuel supply pipe. The pipe has no internal horizontal part except for a short tip of its nozzle. This arrangement counteracts solidification of oil in the supply pipe. Said tip is positioned in such manner that liquid fuel is discharged therefrom centrally of, and in the direction toward, a rotary plate. A blower supplies compressed air to the interstice between housing and plate. From there, a mixture of oil and air then enters a burner ring or the like.
