摘要: The apparatus and related method employ fluid pressure to first separate the water accumulation chamber from the filtration chamber of a filter assembly by closing fluid flow pathways that allow water to flow into the accumulation chamber. With the chambers separated, fluid pressure is applied to the accumulation chamber to open a drain valve and push water out of the accumulation chamber. The period for which pressure is applied to the accumulation chamber can be regulated by sensors detecting a low water level, or can be timed, or both. When the water removal is completed, the fluid pressure is removed and fluid communication between the filtration chamber and the water accumulation chamber is restored.

摘要: A water draining system for a fuel filter having a water collecting reservoir is disclosed. The water draining system has a housing adapted for attachment to the reservoir, the housing having a water sensor arranged to protrude into the reservoir and having a valve with an inlet for draining water collected in the reservoir. The valve is selectively moveable between an open and a closed configuration. The water draining system also has a controller connected to the sensor such that when the water level in the reservoir reaches a predetermined level, the sensor sends a signal to the controller and movement of the valve between the open and closed configuration is directly or indirectly dependent upon subsequent signals generated by the controller.

摘要: Various example embodiments relate to an automatic drain system for use with a fluid water separator. The automatic drain system includes a liquid-in-fuel sensor configured to detect a liquid level in a water sump. A pump includes an inlet in fluid communication with the water sump and an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet. The pump has an active state and an inactive state. The active state causes the pump to draw liquid in from the inlet and direct liquid toward the outlet. A battery is configured to power the pump. A circuit board is operably connected to the pump and battery. The circuit board includes at least one circuit having a first state and a second state. The first state prevents power flow from the battery to the pump. The second state facilitates power flow from the battery to the pump, transitioning the pump from inactive to active.

摘要: A filter monitoring system and method are described. The filter monitoring system includes a module or circuit installed on an internal combustion engine or within a vehicle powered by the internal combustion engine. The filter monitoring system monitors the operation of the various filtration systems present on the engine to determine an amount of service life remaining and a loading percentage for various filter cartridges installed in the filtration systems of the internal combustion engine. The filter monitoring system determines the loading percentage and predicts remaining service life of a given filter cartridge via a time-based manner (e.g., based on the installation date of the filter cartridge and filter cartridge life specifications) and a pressure differential based manner (e.g., based on a determination of pressure drop across the filter cartridge).

摘要: A drain control device for a filter system for filtering a media flow of a first medium and a second medium, wherein the second medium separated from the media flow collects in a collecting chamber of the filter system, has sensor arrangement with at least a first sensor unit and a second sensor unit. The first and second sensor units detect a filling level of the second medium in the collecting chamber. The first and second sensor units operate based on a different action mechanism, respectively. One or more shut-off valves are arranged at a media outlet of the collecting chamber. The first and second sensor units are operatively connected with the one or more shut-off valves to automatically drain the second medium from the collecting chamber through the media outlet when a drain criterion is reached. A filter system with such a drain control device is provided.

An exemplary control system includes a controller, at least one monitor, an output, and a remediation system. The monitor of the control system may collect and analyze data indicative of a corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system. The output of the control system may automatically warn an operator of the fueling station of the corrosive environment so that the operator can take preventative or corrective action. The remediation system of the control system may take at least one corrective action to remediate the corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system.

摘要: A filter monitor system (“FMS”) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (“ECM”) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.

摘要: Apparatuses and methods are provided for detecting contaminant in a fuel system, such as a fuel system of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a fuel filter which includes an upper unit having an inlet port and an outlet port, and a closeable vent. A lower unit is releasably mounted to the upper unit and includes a contaminant collection zone and a contaminant detection sensor made up of a probe and a board with a microprocessor for detecting contaminant collecting in the collection zone within the lower unit. At least one indicator is provided for producing an alarm condition in a response to receiving a signal from the sensor.

A dewatering device for an operating substance, more particularly a fuel for a vehicle, more particularly a rail vehicle, includes a water container, in which water present on or in the fuel is collected. The dewatering device has a dewatering conduit or line which runs from the water container to an operating-substance tank of the vehicle and/or to an exhaust-gas system of the vehicle.
