摘要: An intake sound amplifier amplifies intake sound that is transmitted from an engine mounted in an engine compartment of a vehicle to a cabin. The intake sound amplifier includes a first passage branched from an intake passage, through which intake air is introduced into an engine; a device body that includes a vibrating body vibrated by pulsation of the intake air and is connected to a downstream end of the first passage; and a second passage that is connected to a downstream end of the device body and extends to the cabin side. The device body is located outward in a vehicle width direction of a side frame that extends in a vehicle front-rear direction and separates inside of the engine compartment from outside in the vehicle width direction.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for engine systems including a vacuum-powered multiple tap aspirator coupled between atmospheric, an engine crankcase, or another source and a vacuum source such as a compressor inlet or engine intake manifold. The multiple tap aspirator includes a suction tap arranged in a throat of the aspirator, a suction tap arranged in a diverging cone of the aspirator, and a suction tap arranged in a straight exit tube downstream of the diverging cone of the aspirator. The aspirator provides vacuum generation and suction flow over a range of vacuum levels at the suction taps, and suction flow only passes through a single check valve before entering the aspirator.

摘要: A sound distribution apparatus provides a driver with an audible impression of the operating speed, load and performance of a vehicle engine. The sound distribution apparatus includes an assembly of one or more sound transmission ducts interconnected to conduct or transmit engine sounds from the air intake tract into the passenger compartment and to distribute the sound in a uniform fashion from behind the dashboard at the front to the passenger compartment. The sound distribution duct includes a plurality of sound diffusion apertures arranged on the outer wall, each configured to diffuse a portion of the transmitted sound into the passenger compartment. A sound permeable airflow blockage device seals the sound transmission duct interior in a gas-tight way preventing airflow.
