    摘要: A yogurt maker device comprises an outer shell to house a yogurt vessel that receives milk and a culture container that receives yogurt culture. A processor within the outer shell controls a heating element to boil milk within the yogurt vessel using a temperature sensor as feedback and for maintaining a predefined boiling temperature for a predefined period of boiling time and a stirring device to continuously stir boiling milk within the yogurt vessel while boiling and also while cooling to a cooling predefined temperature until fermentation temperature is reached. The processor also controls a culture container base holding the culture container and having a motor to automatically pour the yogurt culture when the fermentation temperature is reached. Finally, a cooling mechanism automatically provides cooling to contents of the yogurt vessel once fermentation is complete.

The systems can be based on a photobioreactor having a “tube-in-tube structure”, where an outer cylindrical tube contains a heat regulation fluid that surrounds one or more inner cylinders that contain microorganisms in growth media. The heat regulation fluid in the outer cylinder, as well as the outer cylinder itself, can assist with regulating the temperature of the growth media in the inner cylinder(s).

In one embodiment, the devices provided by the invention comprise a housing dimensioned to hold a reaction chamber disposed within an interior volume of the housing. The reaction chamber has thermally conductive interior and exterior surfaces defining an internal volume therein at a first temperature. The device also includes at least one temperature-control substance at a second temperature received into said bladder and expels said temperature-control substance, the bladder expands to about substantially at least a portion of said exterior surfaces of said reaction chamber to enable thermal exchange between said temperature-control substance and the said internal volume of reaction chamber.

    摘要: The bioreactor is for use in performing biological and/or biochemical reactions and includes a vessel, an agitator, a reaction assembly, and a harvesting outlet. The vessel of the bioreactor includes several ports including a mixing port, a reaction port, and a harvesting port. The agitator extends through the mixing port into the vessel while the harvesting outlet extends through the harvesting port and permits the withdrawal of reaction medium to another vessel. The reaction assembly extends through the reaction port into the vessel and has multiple components including a gas conduit adapted to introduce gas into a reaction medium in the vessel, a sampling device adapted to remove a portion of the reaction medium from the vessel without contamination of the remaining reaction medium, and an introduction conduit permitting the introduction of at least the reaction medium into the vessel.

    摘要: The invention relates to a photobioreactor system for a phototrophic microorganism, and culture medium therefor, comprising a reactor chamber and a thermal system. The thermal system includes a convection chamber in thermal contact with the reactor chamber and having a first port and a second port; a heat storage reservoir having a first region containing a first volume of heat exchange liquid at a first temperature and a second region containing a second volume of heat exchange liquid at a second temperature; and a flow system configured for (1) flowing heat exchange liquid from the heat storage reservoir into the first port and through the convection chamber and flowing heat exchange liquid from the convection chamber out of the second port into the heat storage reservoir; and (2) flowing heat exchange liquid from the heat storage reservoir into the second port and through the convection chamber and flowing heat exchange liquid from the convection chamber out of the first port into the heat storage reservoir. Methods of using said photobioreactor to manage the temperature of the culture medium in the photobioreactor and to manage the amount of heat stored in the reservoir are also described.
