Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for forming low melting point glass fibers comprising providing a glass feedstock comprising a low melting point glass and melt-spinning the glass feedstock to produce glass fibers, wherein the glass transition temperature of the glass fibers is less than or equal to about 120% of the glass transition temperature of the glass feedstock. The disclosure also relates to method for forming low melting point glass frit further comprising jet-milling the glass fibers. Low melting point glass frit and fibers produced by the methods described above are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: The invention relates to a glass including, as represented by mol % based on elements: 8-25% of P; 8-40% of Sn; 20-80% of O; and 1-50% of F, in which the glass has a glass transition temperature Tg of 300° C. or lower, and the glass gives an infrared absorption spectrum satisfying A3240/A3100 of 0.6-1.2, where the A3100 is an absorbance per 1-mm thickness at a wavenumber of 3,100 cm−1 and the A3240 is an absorbance per 1-mm thickness at a wavenumber of 3,240 cm−1.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides glass compositions that include from about 20 mol % to 45 mol % of B2O3; and from about 10 mol % to about 80 mol % of one or more glass components selected from the group consisting of CaO and MgO. The glass compositions also include less than 0.1 mol % CdO. The glass compositions may include one or more of Na2O, K2O, and a phosphate source, where the B2O3 and the phosphate source total about 60 mol % or less. The glass compositions may include a source of fluoride. The glass composition may be used to desensitize dentin. The present disclosure also provides dentin-desensitizing compositions, as well as methods and uses of the disclosed glass compositions.

Abstract: The invention provides an optical glass having excellent precision molding performance and having a refractive index of 1.46-1.53 and an Abbe number of 77-84. The optical glass comprises the following components based on cations in the molar percentage: P5+: 10-35%, Al3+: 10-35%, Ba2+: 1-20%, Sr2+: 10-35%, Ca2+: 1-20%, Gd3+: 0-10%, and Na+: 0-10%; the ratio of Sr2+/(Gd3++Na+) being 1-30; anions comprising F− and O2−, wherein the ratio F−/P5+ of F− content relative to the total molar percentage of anions to P5+ content relative to the total molar percentage of cations is 2.5 or more. The invention by rationally adjusting the proportions of the components, the molding performance of the optical glass is improved, and the problem that glass is broken and forms fogs during the molding process is solved, thereby the yield in manufacturing optical elements is improved.
