摘要: A method of producing glass using submerged combustion melting includes supplying a combustible gas mixture to one or more submerged burners of a submerged combustion melter, combusting the combustible gas mixture supplied to the submerged burner(s) to produce combustion products, and discharging the combustion products from the submerged burner(s) directly into a glass melt contained within the submerged combustion melter to agitate and heat the glass melt. The glass melt is comprised of soda-lime-silica glass and has a redox ratio. Additionally, the disclosed method involves controlling one or more operating conditions of the submerged combustion melter selected from (1) an oxygen-to-fuel ratio of the combustible gas mixture supplied to each of the submerged burners, (2) a residence time of the glass melt, and (3) a gas flux through the glass melt.

摘要: Disclosed are a glass ceramic composition, a preparation method and application thereof. The glass ceramic composition according to the present application includes: 58% to 72% of SiO2; 0% to 4% of Al2O3; 0% to 5% of Na2O; 3% to 8% of K2O; 8% to 17% of Li2O; 2.5% to 5% of P2O5, 0% to 2% of MgO, 0% to 2.5% of B2O3; 0% to 5% of ZnO; and 0% to 3% of ZrO2. It is possible to prepare such lithium metasilicate glass ceramic with a crystal phase of lithium metasilicate, a crystallinity of greater than 50%, a grain size of 30 nm to 60 nm and a hardness of 500 kgf/mm2 to 590 kgf/mm2. The composition does not require an introduction of a high proportion of zirconia content, and can be ground to a thickness of 0.2 mm without edge collapse.

摘要: A glass article including at least about 40 mol % SiO2 and, optionally, a colorant imparting a preselected color is disclosed. In general, the glass includes, in mol %, from about 40-70 SiO2, 0-25 Al2O3, 0-10 B2O3; 5-35 Na2O, 0-2.5 K2O, 0-8.5 MgO, 0-2 ZnO, 0-10% P2O5 and 0-1.5 CaO. As a result of ion exchange, the glass includes a compressive stress (σs) at at least one surface and, optionally, a color. In one method, communicating a colored glass with an ion exchange bath imparts σs while in another; communicating imparts σs and a preselected color. In the former, a colorant is part of the glass batch while in the latter; it is part of the bath. In each, the colorant includes one or more metal containing dopants formulated to impart to a preselected color. Examples of one or more metal containing dopants include one or more transition and/or rare earth metals.

摘要: A solar dark green glass and a vehicle are provided. The solar dark green glass includes a glass basic component and a glass tinted component. The solar dark green glass includes a glass basic component and a mass tinted component. The glass tinted component includes, as percentages by weight, 0.8%-2.0% total iron expressed as Fe2O3, 0.01%-0.6% TiO2, 0.001%-2.0% CeO2, 5 ppm-150 ppm Cr2O3, 15 ppm-60 ppm Zro2, 2 ppm-1000 ppm CuO, 5 ppm-50 ppm SrO, 80 ppm-200 ppm BaO, and 5 ppm-120 ppm Co2O3. A content of total iron expressed as Fe2O3 and a content of TiO2 total 1.0%-2.0%, and the content of TiO2 and a content of CeO2 total 0.2%-2.1%. The solar dark green glass manufactured has a thickness of 1.6 mm-2.1 mm, and solar direct transmittance less than or equal to 65%, infrared transmittance less than or equal to 45%, and ultraviolet transmittance less than or equal to 35%.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to antimicrobial glass compositions, glasses and articles. The articles include a glass, which may include a glass phase and a cuprite phase. In other embodiments, the glasses include as plurality of Cu1+ ions, a degradable phase including B2O3, P2O5 and K2O and a durable phase including SiO2. Other embodiments include glasses having a plurality of Cu1+ ions disposed on the surface of the glass and in the glass network and/or the glass matrix. The article may also include a polymer. The glasses and articles disclosed herein exhibit a 2 log reduction or greater in a concentration of at least one of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and E. coli, under the EPA Test Method for Efficacy of Copper Alloy as a Sanitizer testing condition and under Modified JIS Z 2801 for Bacteria testing conditions.
