In addition, the incised layer includes at least a first incision and a second incision that are concentric, the first incision being positioned within the second incision.

摘要： A device strips circular areas of insulation to expose the flat conductors in flexible printed circuits, flat electrical cables, multilayer circuit boards and the like, to permit making electrical connections thereto. The basic principle of operation resembles that of an end mill or drilling machine. The new machine employs rotating cutters of novel shape which cut more readily through insulating films and sheets than through metals such as copper, and the machine has a precision depth stop. Both features prevent cutting through the thin foil conductors. The depth stop may be set so that the cutter penetrates the foil by a small fraction of its thickness, exposing a clean metal surface for soldering. The bottom of the cut is visible during the cutting operation.

摘要： A method for utilizing a laser to etch a stratified material is disclosed. The method includes providing a stratified material having at least two layers that are secured together, the layers including a first layer and a second layer. An incision is then formed in the stratified material with a laser, the incision extending through the first layer to expose the second layer. The stratified material may then be incorporated into an upper of the article of footwear, for example. By exposing portions of the second layer, properties of the second layer may be exposed in the area of the removed first layer.

摘要： An electronic engraving system is provided wherein an object, e.g., a person, for a picture to be engraved on a card is picked up by a television camera and converted into corresponding electric signals; the electric signals are stored first and then read out at a lower scanning speed that suits a mechanical scanning system through scanning conversion means, and the picture of the object is engraved on the material in accordance with the read out signals, whereby the picture corresponding to the object can be easily engraved on the material, e.g., a plastic card without using any photographic original picture of the object.
