To support the object the first support assembly includes a set of driven rollers and the second support assembly includes a set of free rollers, each being diagonally offset from the frame. The second support assembly is configured to slidably move on the frame to vary a longitudinal separation between the driven rollers and the free rollers. The second support assembly further includes a vertical adjustment assembly configured to move the free rollers vertically to vary a vertical separation between the driven rollers and the free rollers. In some aspects, the first support assembly also includes a fixed vertical adjustment assembly configured to move the driven rollers vertically to vary a vertical separation between the driven rollers and the free rollers.
Abstract:
Devices, kits, and methods for making a carved crayon are provided. In one aspect, a crayon carving device includes a base, a pantograph armature coupled to the base, a crayon positioner, and at least one guide template parallel to the crayon positioner. The pantograph armature includes a motorized drive shaft with a drill tip for carving an outside surface of a crayon body, as well as a guide tip for tracing along a guide template that directs where the drill tip carves. In some embodiments, the guide template includes a stationary bridge support and a plurality of removable carving bucks that insert into one of multiple openings on the bridge support. The surface features of each of the carving bucks may be traced by the guide tip to generate a corresponding carving on the surface of a crayon body.
Abstract:
A turnover fixture for wheel character carving. A rotation air cylinder and an angle block are mounted on a base, a first rotation shaft and a rotation shaft are connected with the rotation air cylinder through a rotation arm, the first rotation shaft and the base are connected through an end cover and a bearing, a support is fixed on the first rotation shaft.
Abstract:
In an image card where an image is formed on a thin plate made of special synthetic paper or plastic by engraving by sweeping the plate with the engraving needle through relative movement of an engraving needle and a plate, it is impossible to form a hidden image which can be viewed when a viewpoint is changed or form an image formed by watermark engraving and the hidden image within the same plane. A hidden image is formed on an image card by engraving while angles of stripes of striped patterns are changed in response to shading of an image. Further, an image engraving device is provided with a rotary driving unit, and engraving is performed in a state that an extending direction of striped grooves of the hidden image and a forming direction of the engraving are made equal, so that a wall face of a groove is always formed by the same side face of an engraving needle and undulation does not occur on the wall face of the groove. Similarly, a shape of a bottom face of the groove is made even. As a result, precision of the hidden image is made high and an effect as the hidden image is further improved.
Abstract:
A workpiece engraving machine provides for a way to clamp, align and identify a workpiece for engraving. An engravable band with a permanently embedded flexible engravable tag and a method of engraving the tag in the engraving machine. In a first aspect, a workpiece clamping table comprising a support surface, a clamp, one or more workpiece alignment devices, a positional sensor and a processor. The processor determines the workpiece type, keeps the automatic inventory and may indicate when workpieces need to be ordered. In a second aspect, a workpiece engraving machine may also have workpiece inventory doors which comprise containers with workpiece holders. The containers are attached to the engraving machine by rotators.

Abstract:
A method for aligning a cylinder support in an engraver includes a step of actuating a plurality of jaws to grip the cylinder support such that the cylinder support becomes automatically aligned in the engraver. The actuating step may further include the step of inserting the cylinder support a predetermined distance into a receiving cavity, where the predetermined distance may range from about 0-300 mm. The method is further characterized in that it may include steps of biasing the plurality of jaws to a predetermined position, energizing a cylinder to cause the plurality of jaws to move substantially simultaneously towards a rotating axis of the engraver; pivoting the pivot lever to cause the jaws to actuate toward and away from a rotational axis of the engraver; and/or lubricating the plurality of jaws with a lubricant and purging the lubricant associated with the plurality of jaws; and/or indexing each of the plurality of jaws to provide a desired travel range. In one embodiment, the cylinder support includes a support shaft located on an end of the cylinder, with the support shaft having a bearing journal thereon such that the actuating step may include the step of actuating the plurality of jaw members to clamp the bearing journal, thereby causing the cylinder to be aligned in the engraver.
Abstract:
An apparatus for engraving vein cuts in a flat metal strip is described including a support adapted to support the metal strip thereon. Three air-driven motors are mounted on the support and have rotary cutting tools thereon which are utilized to cut angularly disposed vein cuts and a horizontally disposed vein cut in one surface of the metal strip. The strip is advanced across the support with the cutting tools being brought into engagement with the strip at the proper time to create the vein cuts therein. A punch is also mounted on the support for creating indexing notches at the lower edge of the strip. The sequential engraving and advancing of the strip through the support is controlled by a programmable controller.
Abstract:
The present cutting diamond machine comprehends a lower actuating unit (1) which makes a chain vice rotate in trips and shift vertically up and down alternately in order that the chain itself is brought in contact or not with an upper engraving device. The lower unit (1) has suitable eccentrics (8, 12) which are connected with the axis of rotation of the vice through connecting rods. A particular upper tool holder head is applied on the cutting diamond machine. By means of this head there is the possibility of obtaining rotations coupled according to horizontal and vertical axes of the tool holder itself, which rotations permit to carry out various ornamental decorations on the chainlet to be machined.
Abstract:
An apparatus for patterning a cylindrical surface comprises a punch held by a holder connected to an arm which is pivotally mounted to permit the punch to strike the cylindrical surface. The cylindrical surface is mounted on a spool which can be rotated relative to the punch. A platform supporting the pivot point for the arm engages a worm gear which can be rotated to translate the platform along the length of the worm gear. The apparatus further comprises at least one source of pressurized fluid, a plurality of pairs of pressure chambers, a piston slidable between each pair of pressure chambers, a dual action on/off valve connecting the pressure source with one of the pressure chambers of each pair, a plurality of restriction valves for regulating the flow of pressurized fluid to each of the pressure chambers, and a programmable controller having a plurality of input and output leads, a plurality of timers, a plurality of counters, at least one high speed counter, and at least one reverse counter.
