Picture information of a document which is subject to correction or revision is stored together with corresponding index information in the magnetic tape memory device, and picture information which does not require correction or revision is stored together with corresponding index information in the optical disc memory device. Index information for the picture information to be written or read out and also one of the memory devices are specified with a keyboard, which is connected to the main control unit. A reading unit, which is connected to the main control unit, reads out picture information of the document through scanning thereof and supplies the information thus obtained to the main control unit. A recording unit, which is also connected to the main control unit, records picture information supplied from the main control unit on recording sheet.

    摘要: Scratch resistant and antistatic sound and picture carriers made of synthetic resins are obtained by providing their surfaces with a thin metal layer. The previously known gold layers applied electrolytically or in high vacuum have the disadvantage that they either were not sufficiently resistant to abrasion or the quality of reproduction was greatly impaired. Better results are obtained by providing the surfaces of the sound or picture carrier (1) with a thin coating (2), made of an iron-chromium-nickel alloy applied in a high vacuum and in a given case coating this layer with a noble metal coating (3), especially a gold coating, likewise applied in a high vacuum.

    摘要: In a magnetic copying machine, a reflected light from an original copy is converted into an electrical signal, and supplied to a magnetic recording head to form a magnetic latent image on a magnetic recording drum. The magnetic latent image is developed by a magnetic toner, and the toner picture is transferred onto a recording paper. The transferred toner picture is fixed on the recording paper, and the remaining toner on the surface of the magnetic recording drum is cleaned after the transfer operation. When the copy magnification factor is larger than one, the pulse interval of clock pulses generated in synchronization with the rotation of the magnetic recording drum for reading out the electrical signal is made longer than that used with actual-size copying, and the movement of the magnetic recording head in the axial direction of the magnetic recording drum per one revolution of the magnetic recording drum is made larger than that used with actual-size copying. When the copy magnification factor is smaller than one, the pulse interval of clock pulses generated in synchronization with the rotation of the magnetic recording drum for reading out the electrical signal is made shorter than that used with actual-size copying, and the movement of the magnetic recording head in the axial direction of the magnetic recording drum per one revolution of the magnetic recording drum is made shorter than that in the actual-size copy.

    摘要: A dot matrix recording system records a wide range of gray levels without compromising recording resolution. Resolution is maintained by using a relatively small dot matrix, preferably a 2 by 2 matrix, for representation of the graphic information at a point within an image being reproduced. When adjacent points within the image have the same optical density, then the matrix representation thereof is altered from point to point so as to produce a matrix of effectively increased size. The larger matrix or matrix group may comprise 4 of the 2 by 2 matrices positioned in a square arrangement. Thus when two horizontally adjacent points within an image have the same optical density and are situated immediately above two other points having the same optical density, then the four-point area is represented by a matrix group comprising a total of 16 matrix cells arranged in a 4 by 4 pattern. Such an arrangement permits recording a gray scale comprising 17 gray levels from white to black, while preserving the resolution afforded by the smaller 2 by 2 matrix. A further gray scale extension is obtained by a "special case" technique wherein the 2 by 2 matrices are combined into a rectangular matrix group which is 2 matrices high by 4 or 6 matrices wide for a total of 32 or 48 matrix cells.

    摘要: A write clock generator of a digital time base corrector for removing time base errors from color video signals includes a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in a phase lock loop by which the oscillator output or write clock pulses, after being suitably divided, are compared, as to phase, with the horizontal synchronizing signals and the burst signals separated from the video signals for controlling the VCO on the basis of both comparisons. In order to avoid a lock-out condition of the phase lock loop as a result of variation in the time relationship of the horizontal synchronizing signals and the onset of the respective burst signals, the oscillator output which has been divided to generally correspond to the frequency of the burst signals is employed to produce first and second trains of pulses having the same frequency as such divided output but being out of phase with respect to each other, and one or the other of the trains of pulses is selected, in response to the timing of the burst signals, for phase comparison with the burst signals of the train of pulses which is substantially out of phase in respect to the latter.

    摘要: A magnetic fax system is disclosed. The system is adapted to receive information from a record medium and from a remote station, as well as to transmit information. When a record medium is provided, a magnetizing bar is used for magnetizing signals on the record medium. An endless travelling transfer magnetic sheet is provided for receiving the first magnetic signals from the record medium after they have been magnetized. A pair of coacting rollers press the endless transfer magnetic sheet to the record medium and an AC field is simultaneously supplied for transferring the magnetic signals to the endless magnetic sheet. A scanning device is provided downstream along the path of the endless magnetic sheet from the magnetizing region and by means of this device magnetic signals transmitted from a remote location may be transferred to the endless magnetic sheet and signals may be transmitted from the endless magnetic sheet to a remote location. The scanning device includes a recording head and a magnetic reading head which are positioned adjacent the endless sheet. An induction coil is coupled to the magnetic reading head and the recording head for transferring signals from the endless magnetic sheet and for transferring signals to the magnetic sheet. The endless sheet passes between a second set of coacting rollers which are located downstream from the scanning device, one roller extending into a supply of magnetic powder which has a resin coating thereon and the powder is thereby transferred to the endless sheet. The endless sheet next passes to a printing region which includes a third set of coacting rollers through which the endless sheet and a recording paper are simultaneously passed, the resin being thus transferred to the recording paper. A heating plate is positioned for melting the resin coating of the magnetic powder which has been transferred onto the recording paper. A demagnetizing system, such as a permanent magnet, is positioned along the path of the endless sheet for erasing the magnetic image.

    摘要: A scanner focuses a beam of radiant energy, in the order of one micron diameter, and this beam is scanned over a graphic representation, such as a photographic negative or film positive. The amount of radiant energy passing through the graphic representation varies with the density of the image at any given spot and is sensed by a transducer. This variable signal is converted to a digital signal which is recorded at regular intervals. The scanning movement and the recording frequency are both clocked from a crystal controlled oscillator, resulting in a precisely controlled digital signal output which is recorded for subsequent reproduction of the image represented.
