In one embodiment, a system for integrating data and header protection in tape recording includes a processor and logic adapted to: provide a data array organized in rows and columns, each row of the data array including four interleaved C1 codewords (CWI-4), add a header to each row of the data array, each header including a CWI-4 Designation (CWID) which indicates a location of the CWI-4 within the data array, calculate ECC parity for at least one C1 codeword in each of the headerized rows, and modify the headerized rows to include the ECC parity, wherein each modified row includes four interleaved codewords, at least one codeword being a C1′ codeword which includes ECC parity for a data portion of a C1 codeword and a portion of a header, wherein none of the CWIDs are split across multiple C1′ codewords in a single modified row.
Abstract:
A mute apparatus comprises a plurality of mute switches 7 each operative to assume two operation states consisting of a mute-on state and a mute-off state; a mute executing switch 6 operative to assume two executing states consisting of a mute-on state and a mute-off state; mute switch control data generating means 3 for generating mute switch control data elements indicative of the operation states of the respective mute switches 7; mute switch control data determining means 4 for determining whether a mute executing switch 6 is to assume the mute-on or mute-off state on the basis of the mute switch control data elements; and mute switch means 5 for having the mute executing switch 6 selectively assume the mute-on and mute-off states on the basis of the mute-on or mute-off state determined by the mute switch control data determining means 4, thereby making it possible for the single mute switch means 5 to determine the execution state of the mute executing switch 6 to mute or unmute an audio signal inputted by the inputted terminal 1 on the basis of the operation states of a plurality of the mute switches.
Abstract:
Individual images included in a multi-frame image can be reproduced in an enlarged scale by an easy operation. Information indicating the number of split frames of a multi-frame image and information indicating the number of photographed images included in the multi-frame image are recorded on a recording medium together with images constituting the multi-frame image. In the reproduction mode, each of images constituting the multi-frame image is reproduced and output on one frame with reference to the reproduced information indicating the number of split frames of the multi-frame image and the reproduced information indicating the number of photographed images included in the multi-frame image.
Abstract:
An analog color video signal is prevented from being satisfactorily copied by inserting a phase-shifted color burst signal of predetermined duration into a predetermined location of the usual burst interval of that analog color video signal. The predetermined location may precede the normal color burst signal, or it may follow the normal color burst signal or it may be located in the middle of the burst interval.
Abstract:
A single chip, single or dual message multilevel analog signal recording and playback system is described. In one embodiment, the system comprises a record circuit, an analog storage array, a playback circuit, and a control circuit that independently controls signal storage segments and duration capability. The record circuit receives an audio signal and generates a filtered signal, which is stored in the analog storage array. The playback circuit is coupled to the storage array for retrieving the stored signal for playback. The system further includes a mixer circuit which receives an auxiliary signal and mixes the auxiliary signal with the stored signal during playback. The control circuit also features a novel audio, visual, and input/output functionality.
Abstract:
A poly-phase filter and an apparatus which compensates for timing error and a method for implementing such compensation are provided. The poly-phase filter can compensate for the timing and phase error of an input signal which occur in a time period which is shorter than the sampling period by obtaining impulse responses of a mother filter having a pass band of (Fs/2n) where Fs is the sampling frequency and n is a positive number, re-sampling the obtained impulse responses using a plurality of clock signals having a phase difference of (2*.pi./n s), and selecting one filter among the filter set having group delays corresponding to the detected phase, and filtering the input signal using the poly-phase filter constituted by a series of filter sets adopting the re-sampled respective impulse responses as transmitting characteristics of the element filters.

Abstract:
A sound producing apparatus which implements a sound output process based on waveform data, corresponding to sound generated by the apparatus, and system-sequence data including information for processing the waveform data. The apparatus comprises a read-write main memory for storing the waveform data and system-sequence data of a selected music title. Also included is a first submemory for storing the waveform data, and a second submemory for storing the system-sequence data. A sound signal generator generates sound signals based on the waveform data and the system-sequence data stored in submemories. A controller controls the entry of waveform data and system-sequence data of a selected music title, stored in the main memory, into the first and the second submemories, respectively. The controller also controls the sound signal generator based on the system-sequence data stored in the second submemory. A communication controller controls the entry of waveform data and system-sequence data, received from a host unit over a telecommunication line, into the main memory.
