    摘要： Waterproof, breathable socks, booties, shoe inserts, and footwear assemblies containing the shoe inserts are provided. The booties and shoe inserts include a laminate of a seamless ePTFE membrane and at least one textile. The bootie is conformable over a range of sizes and shoe shapes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of asymmetrical shoe lasts. The bootie may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, an asymmetrical last having a desired size to form a shoe insert. Such a conformable bootie eliminates the need to have multiple sizes of shoe inserts correlating to particular shoe sizes. In embodiments where the ePTFE is seamless and continuous, the shoe insert eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make shoe inserts waterproof. Methods of forming the socks, booties, and shoe inserts are also provided.

    摘要： An orthopedic casting slipper kit for custom molding of a foot impression including a low-cut impression slipper shaped to extend upwardly on a patient's foot from a plantar surface of the foot to an open end. The impression slipper is made from a fabric that is sufficiently resilient so as to enable the impression slipper to substantially conform to the patient's foot. A support element is coupled to the impression slipper and extends around at least a portion of the patient's foot for holding the impression slipper snug against the patient's foot. A quantity of curable resin is provided for impregnation into the fabric of the impression slipper and is sufficient to harden the impression slipper into a cast foot impression.

    摘要： A footwear construction and method for manufacturing the same. The sole include a rigid flexplate suspended within the midsole. The flexplate extends along substantially the entire length and width of the sole. The sole also preferably includes a rear stabilizer molded in place about the heel region of the midsole. Further, the footwear may include a dual-density collar disposed about the ankle region of the upper. The collar includes a relatively soft inner layer that permits the collar to be stitched to the upper and a relatively rigid outer layer that provides the desired level of stability. The sole is preferably manufactured using the general steps of (a) providing a mold with a plurality of flexplate locating pins, (b) positioning a flexplate within the mold, (c) injecting the midsole material into the mold about the flexplate, and (d) attaching an outsole to the midsole. The rear stabilizer is preferably molded prior to and retained within the mold during the midsole molding step. The collar is preferably molded in sequential shots, with the inner and outer materials being molded from the same family of materials to enhance bonding. The molded collar is stitched to the upper and cement to the sole.
