The present invention is directed to an apparatus for differential cooling of a plastic film tube. The apparatus and method includes the use of a blown film extrusion die that extrudes a plastic film tube upward. An air cooling system applies cooling air across one or more surfaces of the plastic film tube. One or more throttling valves are coupled to a pressurization pump that provides a pressurized working fluid, preferably water. The throttling valves are positioned to project the pressurized working fluid from outlets of the throttling valves towards circular arcs of the plastic film tube, the circular arcs of the plastic film tube being less than the circumference of the plastic film tube to provide a blown film tubular plastic film with controlled gauge variation.

The invention relates to a device for cooling a film (1) which can be produced in a film extrusion system in particular, comprising a housing (11) that has at least one channel (12), at least one inlet opening (13), and at least one outlet opening (14) through which a cooling gas (2) can flow and comprising an adjusting arrangement (10) with which the cooling gas (2) volumetric flow rate that can flow out of the outlet opening (14) and the temperature of the cooling gas (2) that can flow out of the outlet opening (14) can be adjusted. According to the invention, the adjusting arrangement (10) comprises a lever system which has a movable actuator (15) and a movable valve element (16), said actuator (15) acting on the valve element (16) such that an actuating effect of the valve element (16) is reinforced.

An electronic circuit may compare the values with preset values. Any difference between the values may trigger change by varying the voltage applied to a variable speed water pump.

A device for preparing a flat profiled element from an elastomeric thermoplastic gel includes: an extruder with at least one feed and a discharge; an extruder die having section configured to be suitable for a profile of the flat profiled element; a liquid cooling bath with a free surface for receiving and cooling the flat profiled element as the flat profiled element is discharged from the extruder die; and a flat moving support for receiving the flat profiled element. The free surface of the liquid cooling bath is arranged in an immediate vicinity of an outlet of the extruder die. Additionally, an angle of inclination of a plane of the extruder die to a horizontal plane is between 20 and 70 degrees.

An apparatus for processing thermoplastic synthetic plastic material to be recycled comprises a first receptacle (1) and a second receptacle (2) for the material to be processed. Within both receptacles (1, 2) tools (21) for mixing and heating the material circulate around a vertical axis each. The material reaches the second receptacle (2) which is connected to an evacuating means (9), from the first receptacle (1) through a connecting conduit (3). The first receptacle (1) has above it an intake opening (19) for the material to be processed, and the mouth of the connecting conduit (3) in the second receptacle (2) is disposed at a higher level than the tools (21) circulating in this receptacle (2). The material processed is carried off the second receptacle (2) through a discharge opening (49) by means of at least one screw (47), whereby this receptacle is vacuum-tightly closed. A sluice (6) is connected to the intake opening (19) of the first receptacle (1) that also is connected to an evacuating means (9). In both receptacles (1, 2) at least two tools (21) each circulate in different levels, disposed one upon the other, wherein the intake opening (19) in the first receptacle (1) is disposed higher than the uppermost tools (21) circulating in this receptacle (1). The discharge opening (49) of the second receptacle (2) is disposed at least substantially at the level of the lowermost tools (21) circulating in this receptacle (2). In each one of the two receptacles (1, 2) at least one temperature sensor (32) is provided for each plane of the circulating tools (21), which sensor is disposed higher than its associated plane.

A method and an apparatus capable of extrusion molding a comparatively wide, thin ceramic sheet using a screw extruder while suppressing the wrinkling thereof. The molding apparatus includes a screw-type extruder and a mold at the forward end of the extruder is used to extrusion mold a ceramic sheet from the ceramic material introduced into the extruder by way of the mold. The extrusion molding is carried out while regulating the temperature of the portion of the ceramic material passing through the mold corresponding to each of a plurality of areas (control zones) into which the mold is divided.
