    摘要: A method introduces additives into flowing or fluidised media. The spatially predetermined position of the additives in the flowing material, also called fluid bed, is obtained by controlling the pulsating injection, The introduction and exact dosing of additives, that is hardeners, dyes, gas producers and softener for instance, into a liquid plastic stream or metal stream (10) for instance, or the fluid bed of bulk material, such as powder, granules and pellets, is carried out by means of an injector. The nozzle needle (3) of at least one nozzle (2), respectively, is variable and highly precisely moved for the introduction by means of a device and in such a way that additive (17) is dosed exactly in relation to the volume flow of the medium and that a pulsating stream (18, 36) is injected into the medium flowing past, by means of at least one well-aimed nozzle opening (4). The additives are dosed by means of a pressure that can be variably adjusted by pulse width and pulse frequency. The desired homogenous distribution is obtained by the penetrating injection jet (37) during compounding.

    摘要: An apparatus and associated method for varying the color and/or flavor of an extruded food product during a single production run of a single extrusion device. The apparatus includes a multi-additive injection system, which is attached to a fluid supply line of an extrusion device. The injection system is comprised of a plurality of additive supply tanks, which are each in fluid communication with the fluid supply line via an injection manifold, and a metering mechanism which selectively controls the amount of additive injected into the supply line by each individual supply tank. The injection system may also include a central control mechanism for calibrating the amount of additive injected into the supply line and for maintaining a constant fluid volume added to the extrusion device. Each of the additive supply tanks may contain a different colorant and/or flavoring. Two variants of the injection manifold are provided as well as a novel injection sequence for use with the disclosed system.

    摘要: A device for controllably and uniformly feeding from the output of a source of an endless strip of material, according to weight requirements, sections of strips of the material to the input of a material utilizing device. The apparatus comprises a continuously moving conveyor band leading from the source of strip material to the input of the device. Controllably operating cutting means cut the endless strip and indicating means indicate the length of each section. Controllably operating gates prevent the passage of a section along the conveyor band and measuring means measure the weight of the sections on the conveyor band. A pulse counter responsive to the indicator and the measuring means count a number of pulses related to the length of a section for activating the cutting means to cut the endless strip and for activating the gate to block the passage of a section on the conveyor band for a period of time related to the weight as measured by the measuring means to control the space between sections.
