摘要: A test strip eject mechanism for a fluid testing device comprising an actuation button and a lever having a distal end movably engaged with the button, the lever configured to rotate about a fulcrum, wherein the lever has a proximal end movably engaged with a sled which slides to transport the test strip, the device configured such that a user's insertion of a test strip onto the sled and in an insertion direction into the device causes the sled to contact the lever arm and the lever arm to contact and move the actuation button in an outward direction of the medical device and into a position where the actuation button can be actuated by the user.

摘要: Bodily fluid sample collection systems, devices, and method are provided. The device may comprise a first portion comprising at least a sample collection channel configured to draw the fluid sample into the sample collection channel via a first type of motive force. The sample collection device may include a second portion comprising a sample container for receiving the bodily fluid sample collected in the sample collection channel, the sample container operably engagable to be in fluid communication with the collection channel, whereupon when fluid communication is established, the container provides a second motive force different from the first motive force to move a majority of the bodily fluid sample from the channel into the container.

摘要: An insertion system for inserting a sensor into fatty tissue, comprising an insertion device and an insertion needle containing a sensor, wherein the insertion device comprises a holder for the insertion needle, and a piercing mechanism so as to move the holder, with the needle held by the same, in a feed direction for a puncture. The piercing mechanism changes the feed direction during the puncture so that, at the end of the puncture, an insertion needle held by the holder is oriented obliquely or perpendicular to the initial feed direction. Also provided are methods for controlling a needle moved by an insertion device.

摘要: A multi-shaft apparatus for incising a substrate of soft resilient material such as a body tissue. The incising apparatus includes two or more incision shafts each having a distal edge. The shafts are not affixed to each other and are allowed to slide against each other to drive the distal edges alternately against the substrate to incise the substrate. In the case of incising a body tissue, such alternate motion would result in less pain to the patient than a puncture resulting from a sharp jab by a sharp shaft of similar size to the shafts.

摘要: An image guided autonomous needle insertion device including a delivery system, a path planner, an image processor, and a human machine interface. The system also includes an ultrasound probe in communication with a frame grabber, a percutaneous insertion device, and at least a first actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a first degree of freedom and a second actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a second degree of freedom. Each actuator has a corresponding position sensor for detecting its location with respect to a target. The system can further comprise an image processor for removing noise and segmenting the ultrasound images to highlight potential targets.

摘要: A means and a method is disclosed to diminish or eliminate the pain associated with a sharp object penetrating the skin, during such procedures as an injection, biopsy, or deriving a blood sample. To this end, repeated tapping, pressing, or rubbing or vibrating is performed over the skin at or near the site of penetration of the sharp object in conjunction with applying electricity on the skin. The invention discloses a method of using a skin-puncturing means, with enhanced features, to provide local anesthesia at the site of penetration of a sharp object.

摘要: Provided is a safety lancet including a reload double prevention structure for preventing a sliding block having a lancet needle from being reloaded to obtain blood, thereby fundamentally preventing reuse of the safety lancet. In addition, the safety lancet guides the sliding block to be straightly discharged without shaking, thereby minimizing pain when the lancet needle is inserted into a skin. The safety lancet includes an outer case forming a space part therein, an inner case sliding along the space part of the outer case, and having a through hole in a front end thereof, and a sliding block coupled to the inner case to straightly move along an inner portion of the inner case, and elastically supported within the outer case by a coil spring, wherein the sliding block comprises a lancet needle having an end protruding from a front end thereof, and a pair of loading hooks on both sides of a rear end thereof to engage with engagement protrusions of the inner case. As the inner case is moved rearward, when the sliding block is disengaged from a portion of the inner case, the sliding block is moved forward by elastic force of the coil spring to temporarily expose the lancet needle out of the inner case, and is then moved rearward to the inner case.
