Abstract: Issue: An objective of the present invention is, without having the objective be measuring temperature, to make available at low cost a fever-diagnostic label as well a fever-diagnostic mask whereby fever state in a wearer may be diagnosed in a form in which it can be seen with the eyes.
Resolution Means: In order to achieve the just-noted objective, the present invention is characterized in providing a body-temperature thermochromic strip that is responsive to a wearer's body temperature, and an ambient thermochromic strip that is responsive to ambient temperature, and in displaying the body-temperature state of a wearer by comparing change in the body-temperature thermochromic strip responding to the wearer's body temperature with change in the ambient thermochromic strip responding to ambient temperature.-

Abstract: A transdermal oxygen patch measures an oxygen concentration based on transcutaneous oxygen diffusing through an epidermal surface of a patient. Transcutaneous oxygen differs from hemoglobin-bound oxygen often measured in a patient blood flow. The patch employs an indicator responsive to an oxygen presence for emitting light having an intensity and lifetime (duration) based on the oxygen presence. An optical receptor is in communication with logic for receiving the intensity of emitted light and computing the oxygen concentration based on the received intensity and lifetime (duration). A wireless transmitter conveys the results to a base station or monitoring counterpart for untethered patient monitoring. Low power demands and circuit footprint are amenable to a wearable device such as a patch for continuous use.

Abstract: A breath analysis device into which a user exhales a breath sample is capable of venting an initial portion of the breath sample from the device, and routing a second portion of the breath sample into a disposable cartridge containing an interactant. The device may include a sensor, such as a pressure sensor, for detecting the initiation of exhalation, and may include a controller that switches a valve during the exhalation process to route a desired portion of the breath sample into the cartridge. After the exhalation process, an LED/photodiode arrangement, or another type of optical sensor, may be used to measure a color change produced by a chemical reaction in the cartridge, to thereby measure a concentration of a ketone or other analyte in the breath sample.

Abstract: This fluorescence observation method is a method of observing a living organism into which a fluorescent dye is injected. The method includes the steps of: irradiating the living organism with excitation light including a wavelength for exciting the fluorescent dye using a light irradiation means, acquiring a first fluorescence image of the living organism generated by the irradiation with the excitation light using an image acquisition means, specifying an observation object in the living organism on the basis of the first fluorescence image; acquiring a second fluorescence image of the observation object generated by the irradiation with the excitation light using the image acquisition means; and specifying a linear fluorescence pattern appearing in the second fluorescence image.

Abstract: A system is provided for collecting and logging the frequency of flatulence of a person in a selected time period as well as the duration of each occurrence of flatulence. The log entries provide determination of the body cells signaling of the person indicative of the person's health condition whereby underlying diseases may be detected and treated in their early stage.
