The device (15) comprises at least one energy-recovering cylinder (21) with its piston (19) which is associated with the fixed part (1) and with the caliper (3) and the working chamber of which is connected fluidly to the brake motor (82). A hydraulic booster/limiter is connected between the energy-recovering cylinder (15) and the brake motor (82), the hydraulic booster/limiter being controlled by the pressure of the fluid generated in the master cylinder (48).
