摘要: A NOx trap catalyst is disclosed. The NOx trap catalyst comprises a noble metal, a NOx storage component, a support, and a first ceria-containing material. The first ceria-containing material is pre-aged prior to incorporation into the NOx trap catalyst, and may have a surface area of less than 80 m2/g. The invention also includes exhaust systems comprising the NOx trap catalyst, and a method for treating exhaust gas utilizing the NOx trap catalyst.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a lean-burn internal combustion engine, engine management means and an exhaust system for treating exhaust gas of the engine. The exhaust system comprises a first oxidation catalyst disposed on a first honeycomb monolith substrate. The first oxidation catalyst comprises platinum supported on a first metal oxide support comprising at least one reducible oxide, and is substantially free of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. The engine management means is arranged, when in use, intermittently to modulate the lambda composition of the exhaust gas entering the first oxidation catalyst to a rich lambda composition.

摘要: A NOx trap comprises components comprising at least one platinum group metal, at least one NOx storage material and bulk ceria or a bulk cerium-containing mixed oxide deposited uniformly in a first layer on a honeycombed substrate monolith, the components in the first layer having a first, upstream, zone having increased activity relative to a second, downstream zone for oxidising hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, and a second, downstream, zone having increased activity to generate heat during a desulphation event, relative to the first zone, wherein the second zone comprises a dispersion of rare earth oxide, wherein the rare earth oxide loading in the second zone is greater than the loading in the first zone. An exhaust system for a lean burn internal combustion engine, a vehicle comprising a lean burn internal combustion engine and the exhaust system and methods of making the NOx trap are also disclosed.

摘要: An exhaust system for treating an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The system comprises a modified lean NOx trap (LNT), a urea injection system, and an ammonia-selective catalytic reduction catalyst. The modified LNT comprises a first layer and a second layer. The first layer comprises a NOx adsorbent component and one or more platinum group metals. The second layer comprises a diesel oxidation catalyst zone and an NO oxidation zone. The diesel oxidation catalyst zone comprises a platinum group metal, a zeolite, and optionally an alkaline earth metal. The NO oxidation zone comprises a platinum group metal and a carrier. The modified LNT stores NOx at temperatures below about 200° C. and releases at temperatures above about 200° C. The modified LNT and a method of using the modified LNT are also disclosed.

摘要: An exhaust system for treating an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine is disclosed.
