Abstract:
A filter panel comprises a plurality of substantially coplanar openings. It incorporates a two-dimensional array of parallel elongate passages. Each passage delimits a respective one of the openings. The array is substantially coplanar with the openings and the passages are substantially perpendicular to the array. Each opening is convergent from an interior profile both from the inlet and outlet side of the panel.

In one aspect, a material structure is disclosed, which includes a macroscopic porous substrate configured to receive a flow of a medium for passage of at least a portion thereof through the porous substrate. At least one porous coating is disposed on at least a portion of an inner surface of the porous substrate, wherein the porous coating comprises a matrix having a plurality of interconnected passages. The porous substrate and the coating are configured to treat at least one contaminant, if any, present in the flowing medium.
Abstract:
A packaging system for honeycomb assemblies, each including a honeycomb body and reinforcing tube held together by an interference fit or axial compression achieved by thermal expansion coefficient differences between the honeycomb body and reinforcing tube. The reinforcing tube then protects the honeycomb body, facilitating a compact and structurally-strong package.
