Abstract: A honeycomb filter includes a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure having a porous partition wall disposed so as to surround a plurality of cells which serve as a fluid through channel extending from a first end face to a second end face; and a plugging portion provided at either an end on the first end face side or the second end face side of the cell; wherein a thickness of the partition wall is 203 to 254 μm, a porosity of the partition wall measured by the mercury press-in method is 55 to 70%, an average pore diameter of the partition wall measured by the mercury press-in method is 20 to 25 μm, and the partition wall has an average base material neck diameter of 11 to 18 μm for a base material neck part in which an actual part of a porous base material constituting the partition wall is locally narrowed.

Abstract: A cordierite-containing ceramic body with % P≥50%, df≤0.50, and a combined weight percentage of crystalline phases containing cordierite and indialite of at least 85 wt %. The porous ceramic body contains, as expressed on a relative oxide weight percent basis in terms of MgO, Al2O3, and SiO2 that is within a field defined by (15.4, 34.1, and 50.5), (12.2, 34.1, and 53.7), (13.3, 31.2, and 55.5), and (16.6, 31.1, and 52.3). Batch composition mixtures and methods of manufacturing a porous ceramic body using the batch compositions are provided, as are other aspects.

Abstract: An exhaust gas purification filter includes a plurality of cells each extending from an inflow end face to an outflow end face, a porous partition wall forming the cells in a partitioned manner, inflow-side sealing parts sealing openings on an inflow end face side of outflow cells where the exhaust gas flows out, and outflow-side sealing parts sealing openings on an outflow end face side of inflow cells where the exhaust gas flows in. Each of the inflow-side sealing parts has a porosity of less than 60%. The partition wall has a porosity of 60% or more and 70% or less. Assuming a pore size, at which cumulative pore volume is 50% in pore size distribution of the inflow-side sealing parts, is d50Pin, and a pore size, at which cumulative pore volume is 50% in pore size distribution of the partition wall, is d50B, the pore size d50Pin is less than 18 μm, and the pore size d50B is 18 μm or more and 25 μm or less.

Abstract: An exhaust gas purification filter includes a honeycomb structure part and sealing parts. The honeycomb structure part has a porous partition wall and a plurality of cells defined by the partition wall to form exhaust gas flow paths. The sealing parts seal alternately a gas inflow-side end face or a gas outflow-side end face of the cells. The exhaust gas purification filter includes fine pores with diameters of 10 μm or less measured by the mercury intrusion method that account for 5% or more of all pores by volume in the honeycomb structure part. The partition wall has a plurality of communication pores communicating between the cells adjacent to the partition wall and has constricted communication pore of which a largest diameter Φ1 and a smallest diameter Φ2 satisfy relationships Φ1≥50, 100×Φ2/Φ1≤20.
