    Abstract: A hybrid vehicle and a method of calibrating a traveling direction of the hybrid vehicle are disclosed. The method of calibrating a traveling direction of a hybrid vehicle including a transmission not having a reverse gear includes: when an abnormality of a motor speed sensor is detected, calculating a difference between at least one of a first moving distance calculated based on sensor information during a predetermined time or a second moving distance calculated based on output torque and a third moving distance calculated based on a vehicle speed by a controller for controlling output torque; when an absolute value of the calculated difference is greater than a preset error reference, reversing the traveling direction recognized by the controller; and controlling a powertrain in response to a transmission lever state.

    Abstract: An eco-friendly vehicle and a launch control method for an eco-friendly vehicle reduces an unpleasant secondary launch effect based on a gear alignment state of a transmission in a specific situation. The launch control method includes: determining a first condition for enabling a preset stop control when the first condition is satisfied; turning off a control for generating a creep torque of a motor when a brake is released; controlling a transmission in an open state and enabling the control for generating the creep torque; and when a second condition for revolutions per minute (RPM) of the motor is satisfied, controlling the transmission in a lock state through a slip state.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a hybrid electric vehicle and method of controlling operation of engine of the vehicle. The hybrid electric vehicle switches its drive mode in consideration of air pollution and pedestrians around the vehicle. A method of controlling a drive mode of a hybrid electric vehicle includes recognizing at least one of a pedestrian and an air pollution level around the hybrid electric vehicle, determining whether each of the recognized pedestrian and the recognized air pollution level meets a corresponding prescribed exhaust gas reduction mode request condition, and determining an exhaust gas reduction mode drive according to a result of the determination.
