摘要: Provided is a method of making methylcellulose-type ether in powder form, said method comprising (a) providing a solution of said methylcellulose-type ether in water, and (b) then separating said methylcellulose-type ether from said water to produce dried methylcellulose-type ether, with the proviso that either (i) step (b) produces said methylcellulose-type ether in powder form, or (ii) after step (b), said method additionally comprises a step (c) of subjecting said dried methylcellulose-type ether to mechanical stress to produce said methylcellulose-type ether in powder form.

摘要: A polymeric capsule shell of high quality is prepared from an aqueous composition which comprises (A) at least one esterified cellulose ether comprising aliphatic monovalent acyl groups and groups of the formula —C(O)—R—COOH, R being a divalent aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, wherein at least a part of the groups —C(O)—R—COOH are neutralized with an ammonium salt of carbonic acid, formic acid or acetic acid, and (B) from 0 to 7 weight percent of a non-polymeric plasticizer, based on the weight of the esterified cellulose ether, wherein the weight of said at least one esterified cellulose ether is at least 80 percent of the total polymer weight in the aqueous composition.

摘要: An aqueous composition comprising at least 10 weight percent of a dispersed esterified cellulose ether, based on the total weight of the aqueous composition, wherein the esterified cellulose ether comprises (i) groups of the formula —C(O)—R—COOH or (ii) a combination of aliphatic monovalent acyl groups and groups of the formula —C(O)—R—COOH, R being a divalent aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, and at least a part of the groups —C(O)—R—COOH are neutralized with an ammonium salt of carbonic acid, formic acid or acetic acid, and wherein d90 of the dispersed esterified cellulose ether particles is up to 10 micrometers, d90 being the diameter where 90 mass percent of the particles have a smaller equivalent diameter and the other 10 mass percent have a larger equivalent diameter, is useful for preparing coating dosage forms including tablets, capsules and others, or for the formation of capsules shells.

摘要: A sustained release dosage form comprises an active ingredient blended with a polymeric matrix. At least a portion of the polymeric matrix is formed by a cellulose ether having an onset dissolution temperature of at least 40° C., having anhydroglucose units joined by 1-4 linkages and having methyl groups, hydroxyalkyl groups, and optionally alkyl groups being different from methyl as substituents such that the cellulose ether has an MS (hydroxyalkyl) of 0.05 to 1.00, and hydroxyl groups of anhydroglucose units are substituted with methyl groups such that [s23/s26−0.2*MS(hydroxyalkyl)] is 0.31 or less, wherein s23 is the molar fraction of anhydroglucose units wherein only the two hydroxyl groups in the 2- and 3-positions of the anhydroglucose unit are substituted with a methyl group and wherein s26 is the molar fraction of anhydroglucose units wherein only the two hydroxyl groups in the 2- and 6-positions of the anhydroglucose unit are substituted with a methyl group.

摘要: An animal protein can be stabilized in a liquid of a pH of 5.5 to 8.0 against precipitation induced by heat-treatment or bivalent cations or both by incorporating into the liquid a carboxy-C1-C3-alkyl cellulose, having a particle size such that no more than 15 weight percent of the particles pass a 63 micrometer mesh screen, no more than 40 weight percent of the particles pass a 200 micrometer mesh screen and not more than 10 weight percent of the particles are retained on a 1000 micrometer mesh screen, in an amount of 0.005 to 0.055 g of carboxy-C1-C3-alkyl cellulose per g of animal protein.
