    Abstract: It is disclosed a dielectric element comprising a lower electrode, a dielectric layer, and an upper electrode which are provided on a substrate, in which at least one of the electrodes is a Pt layer, a Ru layer is used as a base layer for the Pt layer. In the fabrication of the dielectric element, the Pt layer is formed by electroplating, a photoresist pattern is used as a plating mask, and an Ru layer is formed as a seed layer. The present invention makes it possible to provide a dielectric element using Pt as an electrode material, that is capable of easily forming a Pt electrode having excellent electrical characteristics without generating voids or seams, that is capable of forming a fine pattern, and that does not occur contamination in a processing chamber, and a method for fabricating a dielectric element of having the characteristics mentioned above.

    Abstract: A coating solution for use in the formation of a metal oxide film is described. It is composed of (a) a .beta.-diketone, (b) at least one element or compound selected from the group consisting of elements capable of forming complexes with said .beta.-diketone, salts of the elements and hydrolysates of alkoxides of the elements, and (c) an aprotic polar solvent. As an alternative, it is composed of a metal complex of a .beta.-diketone and an aprotic polar solvent.

    Abstract: A release system for a seat occupant restrained by a seat-belt in a vehicle can be operated either inboard or outboard. The system includes a mechanism for emergency-releasing a seat-belt retractor after the seat-belt retractor has been locked, and an emergency release control for the mechanism mounted on the vehicle body and having inboard and/or outboard operating terminals. According to this system, a rescuer can operate the system from outside the vehicle to release a stunned seat occupant, e.g. after a collision involving the vehicle and can quickly rescue the seat occupant.

    Abstract: When a driver inserts a key into a cylindrical lock-type outside door switch and rotates it clockwise or counterclockwise, a slide door for an automotive vehicle is opened or closed automatically by motor power from the outside of the vehicle. Additionally, when the driver inserts the key into the outside door switch, and rotates it to an open position, the slide door is unlocked automatically before being opened; when the driver extracts the key from the outside door switch, the closed slide door is locked automatically. A motor is mounted on the slide door and a power supply is applied to the motor by means of a current collector. A pinion and rack are also mounted on the slide door to open or close the door. Such structure allows the slide door to be opened or closed manually or automatically.
