Abstract: A webbing winding device includes a spool, a sensor lever, and a solenoid. The sensor lever is displaceable between the first position and the second position. In a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the first position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is enabled, and in a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the second position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is locked. When the solenoid is actuated, a part of the sensor lever is attracted and the sensor lever is displaced from the first position to the second position. The center of gravity of the sensor lever is set so that the sensor lever is displaced toward the second position when negative acceleration with respect to the direction in which a part of the sensor lever is attracted to the solenoid is generated in the sensor lever.

Abstract: A vehicle occupant restraint system is configured to, when a vehicle speed is higher than or equal to a vehicle speed threshold, a steering angle velocity is higher than or equal to a steering angle velocity threshold set for each vehicle speed, and an estimated lateral acceleration is higher than or equal to an acceleration threshold, drive a retractor motor. The steering angle velocity threshold is as a condition to drive the retractor motor. Therefore, by setting an appropriate steering angle velocity threshold according to an amount of movement of an occupant with inertia in a vehicle width direction, the vehicle occupant restraint system is able to take up a webbing when the occupant is estimated to move with inertia by a relatively large amount in the vehicle width direction. The amount of movement with inertia varies for each vehicle speed even at the same steering angle velocity.

Abstract: A belt retractor for a motor vehicle seat belt device, with a rotatably mounted belt reel onto which a seat belt is wound, and a belt tensioner with a drive wheel (1), which drives the belt reel in the event of an activation. A positively controlled tensioner coupling transfers the drive movement from the drive wheel (1) onto the belt reel. At least one coupling pawl (2,3) mounted on the drive wheel (1) and which is moved into and out of engagement with a toothing (20) rotationally fixed in relation to the belt reel to establish and disconnect a rotational connection of the drive wheel (1) with the belt reel. A friction ring (4) has a control arm (11) coupled with the coupling pawl (2,3), wherein in the event of an activation of the belt tensioner, the friction ring (4) performs a relative movement to the drive wheel (1) by frictional forces and, controls via the control arm (11) the movement of the coupling pawl (2,3) into engagement and disengagement with the toothing (20). The friction ring (4) and/or the coupling pawl (2,3) has a blocking contour (12), positioned such that the coupling pawl (2,3) abuts thereon after the disengaging movement out of the toothing (20) and is blocked in the direction of a repeated engagement movement into the toothing (20).

Abstract: A seat belt retractor with a belt shaft rotatably supported in a frame for winding up a seat belt. A blocking device blocks the belt shaft in the winding off direction. A control disk (1) is spring-loaded in the direction of winding up and with a cogging (2). A sensor device (3) inertia mass (4) and a blocking lever (5) can be deflected by the inertia mass (4), which blocks the control disk (1) by deflecting the inertia mass (4) and an engagement of the blocking lever (5) into the cogging (2) of the control disk (1). A counter gear unit (6) driven by the rotary movement of the belt shaft, and a first switching device (7) is activated by the counter gear unit (6) and blocks the control disk (1) after a first belt webbing withdrawal (A) and frees it again after a second belt webbing intake (B). A second switching device (8) is activated by the counter gear unit (6) and fixes the blocking lever (5) after a belt webbing intake (C) in a non-engagement position into the cogging (2) of the control disk (1).

Abstract: A seat belt retractor that has a simple structure, easy to manufacture and operates accurately is provided, and a seat belt apparatus provided with the seat belt retractor is also provided. The seat belt retractor includes energy absorbing mechanisms that absorb and alleviate the energy of a vehicle occupant by limiting a load applied to a seat belt. The energy absorbing mechanisms is coaxially incorporated in a spool, whose one end portion is retained by the spool and the other end can be locked by the lock mechanism, and obtains a rotational force when being twisted. The second energy absorbing mechanism includes a first rotating member rotatable together with the spool, an abutting member relatively rotatable with respect to the first rotating member by a predetermined angle, a second rotating member relatively rotatable with respect to the abutting member, and an energy absorbing member whose one end portion is fixed to and supported by the second rotating member and the other end portion abuts against the abutting member.
