摘要: When end lock has occurred in a seat belt retractor due to winding-up of a webbing, the end lock is easily and surely released. A stop part (6G) engages with a lock arm (40) displaced in a locking operation direction and stops the lock arm (40). A lock mechanism (9), in a state where the lock arm (40) stands still on the stop part (6G), starts operation with rotation in a pull-out direction (P) of a winding drum and stops rotation of the winding drum. A transmission mechanism (19) transmits rotation of the winding drum to the lock arm (40) and displaces the lock arm (40) in a release direction to release the engagement with the stop part (6G) is released between the time when operation of the lock mechanism (9) is started and the time when rotation of the winding drum is stopped. Release means (18) releases the engagement between the lock arm (40) and the stop part (6G) by the transmission mechanism (19).

摘要: In a webbing take-up device, an open portion is formed in the other side, in a direction about a rotational axis of a switch pawl, of a sensor holder. In a state where an engagement piece is positioned on the outside of the open portion, the switch pawl is rotated about a shaft to cause the engagement piece to enter in a window portion, so, a distal end of the engagement piece, bent in a hook shape, faces to a regulation wall in an axial direction of the shaft. It is not necessary to elastically deform the engagement piece when bringing the regulation wall and the engagement piece into facing. Therefore, the engagement allowance in the engagement piece with the regulation wall can be enlarged and the distal end of the engagement piece can be prevented from crossing over the regulation wall and moving toward the shaft side.

摘要: Method for actuating a reversible belt pretensioner for pretensioning a belt webbing, unwinding from a belt reel, of a seat belt in a motor vehicle, the belt pretensioner having a drive which acts on the belt reel, and the seat belt having, as a belt extraction lock, a locking device which acts on the belt reel in the unwinding direction and whose locking can be released only if the belt reel is rotated through a specific angle of rotation in the winding-on direction. After the triggering of the belt pretensioner, the drive of the belt pretensioner for opening the locking device is actuated in an opening mode in such a way that firstly, in a winding-on phase, the belt reel rotates through the specific angle of rotation in the winding-on direction. In a subsequent holding phase, the drive of the belt pretensioner is actuated for a predefinable holding time TH in such a way that the belt reel is held in its angular position.

摘要: Provided is a seatbelt device capable of realizing a comfortable seatbelt-wearing environment as well as appropriately securing and protecting a passenger. The seatbelt device is further capable of realizing an immediate escape or rescue of a passenger after a vehicle accident, thereby providing extra safety and a swift escape by protracting the webbing in accordance with the state of the vehicle accident. This seatbelt device is provided with a retractor which uses a motor for retracting and protracting the webbing that secures a passenger to his/her seat, and a controller for rotating the motor and at least retracting the webbing. The controller is capable of altering the protraction mode of the webbing in accordance with the state of the webbing fastened by the passenger.

摘要: An emergency spool release for use with a seat belt retractor mechanism is shown wherein the seat belt mechanism includes a spool for storing a belt which restrains the passenger of a vehicle during an emergency. The belt is urged into a retracted position by spring means while the protracted position of the belt is restrained in an emergency by the automatic engagement of a locking pawl against ratchet teeth found on the periphery of the spool. The automatic engagement is accomplished by an inertia locking system. In some situations, the automatic inertia locking system does not disengage thereby making it difficult to accomplish further protraction of the seat belt in a post emergency situation. The locking pawl in the seat belt mechanism of this invention is capable of a rotational motion to engage the ratchet teeth under the urging of the inertia locking device. It is also capable of a transverse motion under the urging of a manual unlocking device for post emergency release. Transverse motion of the locking pawl is accomplished by a lever which is attached to the locking pawl and spring biased into the automatic position. Actuation of a lever either manually or by a second lever mechanism causes the transverse motion of the locking pawl to unlock the seat belt mechanism in the post emergency condition.

摘要: This invention relates to an automatic locking seat belt retractor of the type in which the belt is wound on a spring actuated spool which exerts a constant belt retracting force on the belt while allowing the belt to be extended by manually pulling it off the spool, and in which means are provided for locking the belt against further extension at any desired degree of extension by locking the spool against unwinding rotation, which means operates in response to a limited retracting movement of the spool. The invention resides in an improved and simplified means for effecting such locking action consisting of a pawl and ratchet normally biased to an engaged position in which they prevent unwinding rotation of the spool and a member journaled concentrically with the spool for limited rotation and having a frictional driving connection with the spool. The said member is frictionally driven to one limit of its movement by a limited extension of the belt and in that position holds the pawl out of engagement during further extension. Initial retracting movement at any degree of extension moves the member to a position in which it allows pawl engagement; thereby locking the belt against further extension. The member is preferably so constructed that further retracting movement of the belt moves the member beyond the last mentioned position to a position in which it again holds the pawl out of engagement with the ratchet to minimize noise and wear during retraction. The invention further contemplates means for unlocking the retractor manually and also an improved means for unlocking the retractor or holding it unlocked automatically when the belt is substantially fully retracted, said last mentioned means being driven by the spool and effective to hold the pawl out of engagement when the belt is fully retracted and during a limited initial extension from fully retracted position.
