Abstract:
A sharp/blurred frame mode classifying unit specifies a frame to be subjected to sharp or blurred process. A 3D video signal extracting unit extracts a predetermined area or predetermined macro block in the specified target frame, and a 3D FFT 15 frequency-converts it to acquire a coefficient string. An intersection coordinate calculating unit finds a non-perceptible high frequency coefficient based on a spatio-temporal visual property model for the coefficient string, and a coefficient cut processing unit cuts the non-perceptible high frequency coefficient for a frequency conversion coefficient of orthogonal conversion of a predictive error signal. The code amount of a video signal is largely reduced for a high frame rate video by the processings only at the encode side without deteriorating the picture quality.
Abstract:
In a liquid crystal display device including an array substrate which is provided with contact holes and a counter substrate which is provided with integral spacers and aligned with the array substrate, an overall region including every pixel region is divided into a plurality of subregions, each of which includes two or more said spacers and is composed of at least one said pixel region. The spacers are so arranged that when one or some of the spacers are positioned to get into the corresponding contact holes, the rest of the spacers are positioned off the corresponding contact holes. By so doing, a uniform gap is provided between the substrates even if accuracy in aligning the substrates with each other is not considerably high.
Abstract:
A first characteristic value extracting unit extracts a characteristic value from a picture transmitted from a transmission side, and a second characteristic value extracting unit extracts a characteristic value from a picture received on a reception side. These extracted characteristic values are supplied to a central monitoring unit through low speed lines, respectively. In the central monitoring unit, an MSE (mean square error) is assessed from the data by an MSE assessing unit. The first and second characteristic value extracting units divide an input picture into blocks, subject the blocks to an orthogonal transformation, or subject the blocks to PN sequence multiplication before the orthogonal transformation, and extract and output orthogonal transformation coefficients. The MSE assessing unit determines the differences between corresponding coefficients on the transmission side and the reception side and squares the differences, adds the squared differences for every coefficients or every blocks, and assess an MSE based on the added values referred to a table. With this operation, the MSE can be effectively assessed using a smaller amount of extracted data (accordingly, slower speed lines can be used in the central monitoring unit).
Abstract:
An protective film and a resin layer are stacked on an insulation substrate on which a TFT is formed, and after a contact hole is formed in the resin layer, the protective film below the contact hole is etched and removed. A pixel display electrode is allowed to contact a drain electrode at the area of the contact hole; thus, a liquid crystal display is formed. A cut-out section, which communicates with the lower layer is formed in the drain electrode in the area of the contact hole. Upon forming a TFT section island-shape semiconductor layer so as to provide a TFT, a hole section island-shape semiconductor layer is also formed in the area of the contact hole. With this arrangement, it is possible to provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display which can avoid the occurrence of a step discontinuity in the pixel display electrode and the subsequent disconnection in the pixel display electrode.

Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a rubber laminate, which comprises bringing an uncured composition comprising a fluororubber and a metal oxide incorporated therein into contact with an uncured composition comprising an epoxy group-containing acrylate rubber and a phosphonium salt of the following general formula incorporated therein: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, secondary and tertiary amino groups substituted with a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and fluoroalkyl groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, with the proviso that the case where all of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are secondary or tertiary amino groups or fluoroalkyl groups is excluded, and R.sub.5 stands for a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and curing them.
Abstract:
A plurality of plate members are provided to be aligned with each other in order to define a plurality of coin paths in units of denominations which are aligned with each other and capable of communicating with a common path along which all inserted coins pass. Selectors are provided at a position immediately upstream from two successive aligned coin paths. Each selector is driven by a solenoid operative in accordance with a detection result from a coil for detecting denominations of coins. An inserted coin is directed to a corresponding coin path by the selector.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of rubber laminates. According to this process, a rubber laminate having a high bonding strength can be obtained by contacting an uncured composition A comprising a fluororubber and a metal oxide with an uncured composition B comprising a nitrile group-containing polymer rubber and a phosphonium salt represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each stand for a hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which may be substituted, with the proviso that up to three of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group or a fluoroalkyl group, and R.sub.5 stands for a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and curing the uncured compositions.
Abstract:
An end face mechanical shaft seal for use in a hydraulic machine includes a seal ring assembly detachably secured to a seal casing and having a sealing face which makes a sliding and fluid-tight contact with an annular seat face presented by a flange on the rotor shaft. The seal ring assembly is of a cartridge type which includes a ring casing having an annular groove formed in one end surface thereof and a seal ring partly received in the groove and fixed to the ring casing by an adhesive. Each of the ring casing and the seal ring is constituted by a plurality of arcuate sections or segments which are connected together in the circumferential direction.
Abstract:
A control system for controlling the load of an AC motor/generator of secondary AC excitation type connected to a power system in parallel to at least a synchronous machine. The AC motor/generator has the secondary excitation winding thereof controlled in the amount of excitation so as to generate an output in accordance with an external output command. In the case of variation of power flow between the power system and the synchronous machine, the output command is corrected in accordance with the variation, and the amount of the secondary excitation is controlled by the corrected output command, whereby the variation of power flow between the power system and the synchronous machine is absorbed by the AC motor/generator thereby to prevent the synchronous machine from stepping out.
Abstract:
This method of starting a variable-speed induction motor utilizes a speed control of the induction motor by varying the output frequency from a cycloconverter. The method comprises applying an output from the cycloconverter to the secondary winding of the induction motor while the primary winding of the induction motor is short-circuited during the start-up of the motor, applying a voltage lower than the line voltage to the primary winding when the induction motor is operating within an intermediate speed range, and applying the line voltage within a speed region near the rated speed. This method enables speed control over a wide range, and provides a sufficiently large start-up torque for the induction motor.
