Abstract:
Improvements in a suspension arm for a land vehicle. The suspension arm is an A-Frame box suspension arm to be essentially fabricated from sheet metal. The sheet metal members are fabricated to the desired shape and then some members are bent. The top and bottom plate members to be keyed. The keyed members both position the components and minimize or eliminate the need for a fixture that holds the parts while they are being welded together. The driver and passenger suspension arms flipper or mirror images. This allows both the left and right sides of the vehicle to utilize the same suspension arm. The box structure transfers loads along the multiple wall structures of the suspension arm when loads are encountered by the wheels and then transferred into the frame. The suspension arms are used in off-road and on-road vehicles for transportation.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a circuit-protection device has first and second circuit-protection units, each comprising first and second nodes. A gate is between the first nodes of first and second circuit-protection units. The first nodes of first and second circuit-protection units are on a common active region.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for performing a procedure within a spine are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes expanding an expandable member to move a tissue portion and form a cavity within an interior of a bone-related structure. At least a portion of the cavity is filled with a filler material while simultaneously withdrawing a medium from the expandable member at a predefined ratio such that the tissue portion substantially maintains its moved position. In some embodiments, the predefined ratio is 1:1. In another embodiment, a method includes expanding an expandable member to move a tissue portion and form a cavity within an interior of an intervertebral disc. At least a portion of the cavity is filled with a filler material while substantially maintaining the moved position of the tissue portion.
Abstract:
An apparatus having a bill validator. The apparatus having a storage area within a housing. The bill validator operable to input bills into the storage area. The bill validator being removable secured within the housing. The removable bill validator permitting the bill validator to be removed from the housing for servicing without comprising security of the storage area.
Abstract:
A method for accelerating an operating system boot process is disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment, during a first operating system boot, information regarding the physical locations of disk access performed by the operating system to complete the boot are recorded and stored in a control data file. The control data file is used during a second operating system boot to predict which data will be required during the second operating system, and to populate a cache with that data. The cache can then be used to improve the second operating system boot to improve the boot time. In one embodiment, the information is independent of a file system of the operating system. In another embodiment, the cache can be populated by copying data from a mass storage device to a cache, and when the data is used, it can be moved from the cache to another cache.
Abstract:
Transistors are formed using pitch multiplication. Each transistor includes a source region and a drain region connected by strips of active area material separated by shallow trench isolaton structures. The shallow trench isolaton structures are formed by dielectric material filling trenches that are formed by pitch multiplication. During pitch multiplication, rows of spaced-apart mandrels are formed and spacer material is blanket deposited over the mandrels. The spacer material is etched to define spacers on sidewalls of the mandrels and the mandrels are subsequently removed, thereby leaving free-standing spacers. The spacers constitute a mask, through which an underlying substrate is etched to form the trenches and strips of active area material. The trenches are filled to form the shallow trench isolaton structures. The substrate is doped to form source, drain and channel regions and a gate is formed over the channel region. In some embodiments, the shallow trench isolaton structures and the strips of material facilitate the formation of transistors having a high breakdown voltage.

Abstract:
A fuel injector assembly for an emissions-based EMD 710 locomotive dieselengine. The fuel injector assembly includes a needle slidably positioned within a bore of a valve body of the injector assembly, where fuel pressure introduced into a bore chamber causes the needle to open a spray tip. A spring mounted within the bore forces the needle to close the spray tip when the fuel is not being applied. The spring is a dead coil spring including inactive coils where at least portions of the coils at both ends of the spring are in intimate contact with each other so as to reduce spring wear during operation of the assembly. Because the dead coil spring has reduced wear, the VOP set point of the fuel injector assembly can be reduced, which reduces NOx emissions.
Abstract:
A method and device for ensuring address information of a wireless terminal device in a wireless local area network, the network comprising; an access point for setting up a communication connection to the terminal device, the method comprising establishing a communication connection between the terminal device and the access point (101), and relaying data packets from the terminal device to the network and from the network to the terminal device (105). The method further comprising the steps at the access point: detecting an IP address of the terminal device in response to the established communication connection (103), associating the detected IP address of the terminal device to the MAC address of the terminal device (104), and comparing that the address information of the terminal device on the relayed data packets are corresponding to the associated address information (111, 112).
Abstract:
A vehicle child seat attachment structure basically comprises a vehicle body panel and a sheet metal structural member. The sheet metal structural member is fixedly coupled to the vehicle body panel to create a space between the vehicle body panel and a cabin facing portion of the sheet metal structural member. The cabin facing portion of the sheet metal structural member is configured and arranged to form at least a first bar portion of an integrated child seat tether anchor that is arranged and dimensioned to receive a child seat tether clip. The sheet metal structural member is reinforced by a reinforcement plate configured and arranged to form at least a second bar portion of the integrated child seat tether anchor that is arranged and dimensioned to overlie the first bar portion such that the child seat tether clip is fastened around the first and second bar portions.
