Abstract:
The present invention relates to a single-stage batch process for preparation of pastable polymers, in particular of vinyl chloride homo- and copolymers, by the microsuspension process, where these in a blend with plasticizers give PVC pastes, also termed plastisols, with very low viscosities and with very low emulsifier contents.
Abstract:
An assembly for measuring force at a friction coupling, more particularly in the driveline of a motor vehicle. The assembly includes an outer plate carrier (6) at which outer plates (7) are held so as to be rotationally secured and in a way so as to be axially displaceable, wherein at least one of the outer plates (7) comprises an outer cam (12); an inner plate carrier (8) at which inner plates (9) are held in a rotationally fast way and in a way so as to be axially displaceable; wherein the outer plates (7) and the inner plates (9) are arranged so as to alternate in the axial direction, while jointly forming a plate package (10); a force measuring device arranged in such a way that, upon actuation of the friction coupling (3), it is loaded by the cam (12) in an operating direction extending at a distance from, and transversely to, the longitudinal axis (A).
Abstract:
A drive module (5, 6) for a variable torque distribution in the driveline of a motor vehicle. The drive module (5, 6) has a first shaft (19) rotatably supported relative to a stationary housing (18); a second shaft (22) which is drivingly connected to the first shaft (19); and a transmission stage (25) arranged in the torque flow between the first and second shafts (19, 22). The transmission stage (25) has at least one planetary gear (27) and a rotating carrier element (32). A coupling (37) serves to couple the carrier element (32) relative to the housing (18). When coupled, torque transmission occurs from one of the first or second shaft (19, 22), to the other one of the two shafts. The housing (18), the first shaft (19), the second shaft (22), the transmission stage (25) and the coupling (37) form part of a unit adapted to attach to a drive (3).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a compressed air motor comprising a housing and a rotor rotatably mounted therein, the rotor being provided with substantially radial slots and plate-like vanes being mounted in the slots so as to be radially displaceable by the centrifugal force, and variable, all-round air chambers being formed between the housing and the outside of the rotor. The vanes are surrounded on the outside by a rotatable sleeve which is provided with at least one passage for the compressed air.
Abstract:
The safety mountaineering rope (1) has a core comprising a plurality of core ropes (2).In order to improve the tearing resistance of the rope (1), the rope core surrounds in the manner of a tube at least one cavity (3) extending over the entire length of the rope (1). In this case the cavity (3 )is filled by means of at least one resilient filling material or body, resilient at least as viewed in the radial direction of the rope (1), and which, when the rope (1) is pulled over an edge and with a high tensile force for example, results in a considerable momentary flattening of the cross-section of the rope when pulled over the edge and thus a considerably wider support of the rope (1) on such an edge. In addition, the rope core (2) is surrounded by a rope sheathing (4) provided with a protective layer (5) impervious to particles of dirt.
Abstract:
Optical smoke detectors such as extinction smoke detectors and scattered-light smoke detectors include a radiation source, a radiation detector or receiver, and a measurement volume which is in communication with ambient atmosphere and which is traversed by a light path from the radiation source to the radiation receiver. For compactness and simplicity, such an optical smoke detector is provided with a planar-optical element in the optical path. Suitable as planar-optical elements are diffractive elements, e.g., holographic-optical elements (HOE), and micro-Fresnel elements (MFE), e.g., micro-Fresnel reflectors (MFR).
Abstract:
Apparatuses for the infeed of cartridges predominantly of two different types of ammunition from conveying devices to a Gatling-type gun or weapon system, can be constructed such that first and second transport devices, a third device and the Gatling-type gun can be simultaneously driven if there are provided storage devices for the intermediate storage of the empty cases during reverse clearing following a firing burst. These storage devices are operatively associated with conveying devices from which the Gatling-type gun has delivered ammunition thereto by the first and second transport devices. The conveying devices, which deliver cartridges from ammunition magazines, can be selectively driven. There is prevented transport of empty cases during reverse clearing by the Gatling-type gun and there is attained the result that the Gatling-type gun is free of empty cases prior to accomplishing a new firing burst. Additionally, it is possible to fire cartridges or ammunition rounds of one type of ammunition from two ammunition magazines without the need to exchange one of the ammunition magazines.
Abstract:
A pipe-end protector depending on its being used as a cap or plug comprises a metal housing with a sleeve-like, elastomer inset or a metal plug with a sleeve-like, elastomer cover. To increase the strength of the protector, the metal housing or the metal plug--which always are tubular--are provided at their outer end with a flanged or folded, preferably rolled edge. To facilitate manufacture of the protector, the inset or the cover may consist of at least two part-cylindrical mating case-components.
Abstract:
Textile fiber carding apparatus is provided with an adjusting system for carrying out linear adjusting movements which are at least esentially independent of friction, and free from jerks and oscillations. The system includes a carrier (20) for the object (12) (e.g., the doffer) to be adjusted and an actuating mechanism (40) in contact with the carrier. The carrier (20) is supported at at least two positions spaced apart from each other in the direction of adjustment on respective supporting devices (26, 26.1). At least one of the supporting devices is formed by a generally cylindrically shaped bellows (28) filled with a bubble free incompressible fluid and is secured at its one end face to the carrier (20) and at its other end face to a foundation (24). At least one flat spring (34, 34.1) is secured at its one end to the foundation (24) and its other end to the carrier (20). One or more addition supporting devices (26, 26.1) may be arranged to permit freedom of movement in the adjusting direction in a manner at least substantially free of friction.
Abstract:
A stepless drive for vehicles, such as agricultural tractors, which must have a wide range of very low speeds is provided by a hydraulic drive which is selectively engageable in place of the conventional gearbox drive. The hydraulic drive shaft is selectively engageable with the drive shaft of the motor vehicle via a gear shift mechanism in an auxiliary gearbox. An electronic interlock assures that the hydraulic drive is engaged with the drive shaft only when the conventional gearbox drive is disengaged from the drive line, and vice versa.
