    摘要: A flexible abrasion resistant water shedding omnidirectionally reflective rope has a central low-density polymeric closed cell foam core comprising EPDM, Neoprene, SBR, NBR, EVA, PVC, PVC/NBR foam surrounded by cylindrically braided sleeve of reflective strips composed of narrow width reflective strips that comprise a woven or knitted narrow width strip and a flexible nylon retroreflective sheet sewn thereon and covered with abrasion resistant water shedding coating. The flexible retroreflective sheet is formed by thermally bonding corner cube, microsphere retroreflectors, or wide angle exposed retroreflective lenses to a flexible polymeric sheet. Due to its low-density foam core construction, the reflective rope floats on water and sheds water from the surface preserving omnidirectional reflectivity. The rope reflects light omnidirectionally over a large angle of acceptance and provides accurate illumination of the rope floating in water, location of a rope wound buoy and the like when used during dusk, fog or nighttime hours.

    摘要: A corrosion resistant rope in which the individual strands are sealed with a plastic foam impregnant and surrounded with a dense unfoamed plastic material is made by applying a foamable plastic to the individual wires of a series of wire strands, or, alternatively, to the individual strands as a whole, and closing the strands into a rope in a closing die while passing a nonfoamable plastic material into the closing die. Sealed plastic foam impregnated wire strands can be made in the same manner by passing nonfoamable plastic material into the stranding die during fabrication of the strand.

    摘要: A wire rope or strand is impregnated with a plastic foam type internal sealant to cushion the wires and strands and provide corrosion protection by (a) initially impregnating the strand with a foamable plastic composition, (b) heating the strand under ''''free-blowing'''' conditions to foam the plastic composition uniformly about the wires or strands, and (c) preferably finally collapsing the foam material upon the surface of the strand by means of a cold die to form a dense outer plastic jacket. The foamable plastic composition before foaming serves as a lubricant within the stranding die so that no additional stranding lubricant is required. The resulting plastic impregnated wire rope or strand has uniform low interwire foam filler densities. Alternative constructions of impregnated rope or strand can be made.

    摘要: A conveyor belt includes a first outer sheet disposed on a loadbearing side of the conveyor belt, a second outer sheet disposed on a drive side of the conveyor belt, and an embedded tension-member system disposed between the two sides, which is in the form of cords running parallel in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt. The tension-member system includes steel and, prior to vulcanization of the conveyor belt, an expandable coating which, after vulcanization of the conveyor belt, has a pore structure provided to at least portions of the tension-member system. The sheets are formed from a polymeric material with resilient properties. In some aspects, the volume of the coating after vulcanization is from 30 to 5000% higher than prior to vulcanization. The coating may contain at least one of a blowing agent and/or microbeads.

    摘要: The safety mountaineering rope (1) has a core comprising a plurality of core ropes (2).In order to improve the tearing resistance of the rope (1), the rope core surrounds in the manner of a tube at least one cavity (3) extending over the entire length of the rope (1). In this case the cavity (3 )is filled by means of at least one resilient filling material or body, resilient at least as viewed in the radial direction of the rope (1), and which, when the rope (1) is pulled over an edge and with a high tensile force for example, results in a considerable momentary flattening of the cross-section of the rope when pulled over the edge and thus a considerably wider support of the rope (1) on such an edge. In addition, the rope core (2) is surrounded by a rope sheathing (4) provided with a protective layer (5) impervious to particles of dirt.
