Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling an antenna is provided. A load on a second antenna of a device is determined, the device comprising at least one processor, a first antenna, a variable tuning circuit connected to the first antenna, and the second antenna, wherein the processor determines the load. The processor controls the variable tuning circuit based on the load on the second antenna to change a match of the first antenna.
Abstract:
The system employs the use of biometric authentication, a fraud control gateway and widget, and a point of sale sensor to restrict the use of credit cards or other financial tokens to authenticated actual owners of the card or token. The card or token holder will have biometric information entered into a database during an initiation or enrollment process, and subsequent uses of the card may be authenticated by comparing the biometric information of the attempted user to biometric information stored in the system. The biometric component is used for voice authentication. As part of a multi-factor security schema, the biometric authentication is combined with a series of point of sale and fraud control methods to ensure a comprehensive security umbrella for financial transactions. Both financial institution limits to transactions and consumer-preferred limits to transactions are employed.
Abstract:
A social proxy and protocol gateway for interfacing with a carrier network, a social listening device, a social network or proprietary social feedback apparatus, and a contact center and contact center database is disclosed. A data link is connected to a carrier network to receive, author tags, attributes, and routing information requests and other routing data. Additional data links are connected to a contact center database and a social network listening device or proprietary social feedback apparatus to obtain information used in determining routing and tagging instructions. A user interface is connected to the social proxy and protocol gateway to accept configurable conditions for determining routing instructions. A text conversion function and speech conversion function is disclosed for providing media conversion for the requirements of each target enterprise contact center.
Abstract:
A communications portal for interfacing with a carrier network, a contact center, and a user is disclosed. Telecommunications links are connected to the communications portal to receive inbound calls and place outbound calls. A gateway signaling proxy containing an application server and a reverse automation subsystem is connected to the telecommunications links to recognize and store user selections, detect answer supervision, and execute scripts as configured in the user interface.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions and methods for detecting oral and gastrointestinal cancers in a subject. Autoantigen p90 was shown to be overexpressed in oral cancer cells, and this protein, as well as its companion autoantigen p62 and antibodies directed to both proteins, can be used as markers for detecting oral digestive and other cancers in a subject at an early stage.
Abstract:
A laser projection device (LPD) suitable for displaying color images is disclosed. The LPD is used to excite various photoluminescent materials located on a display screen so as to produce multi-color displays. Additionally, the screen may be movably mounted so as to reduce laser speckling.
Abstract:
A laser projection device suitable for displaying full color images is disclosed. The LPD includes a variety of techniques for modulating laser beams produced by one or more lasers with image data to controllably produce the image using a modified raster scan.

Abstract:
A computing arrangement for determining a location of a wireless communications device includes a memory arrangement, a communication arrangement and a processor. The memory arrangement stores a location of each of at least three access points. The communication arrangement receives first data which includes at least one of first signal strength data and second signal strength data. The first signal strength data is indicative of a strength of a first signal transmitted by the device and received by the at least three access points. The second signal strength data is indicative of a strength of a second signal transmitted by the at least three access points and received by the device. The processor determines a location area of the device as a function of the first data and the location of each of the at least three access points, the location area being within a predetermined reception range of the at least three access points. The processor determines the location of the device within the location area as a function of second data. The second data is indicative of a travel time of a third signal from the device to each of the at least three access points.
Abstract:
A portable instrument incorporates an electro-optical assembly for reading indicia during for projecting a bit-mapped image during a display mode. A manually operable switch on the instrument is disposed for selecting one of the modes. The image is formed by pulsing a laser at selected times on selected scan lines.
