摘要: The present disclosure relates to a battery module that includes a housing having a first protruding shelf along a first perimeter of the housing, a second protruding shelf along a second perimeter of the housing, where the first and second protruding shelves each include an absorptive material configured to absorb a first laser emission. The battery module also includes an electronics compartment cover configured to be coupled to the housing via a first laser weld, and a cell receptacle region cover configured to be coupled to the housing via a second laser weld. The electronics compartment cover has a first transparent material configured to transmit the first laser emission toward the first protruding shelf and the cell receptacle region cover has a second transparent material configured to transmit the first laser emission or a second laser emission toward the second protruding shelf.

摘要: Disclosed is a system for testing batteries, comprising: a battery tester comprising: a tester scanner or camera for capturing an obtained battery identifier; a tester network hardware for transmitting the obtained battery identifier; and a server comprising: a database having data, the data comprising at least one historic battery identifier and associated historic battery characteristic and configured to compare the data with the obtained battery identifier; wherein the battery tester is configured to capture a battery identifier from a battery and transmit the battery identifier to the server.

摘要: A lead-acid battery is disclosed. The lead-acid battery has a container with a cover and includes one or more compartments. One or more cell elements are provided in the one or more compartments. The one or more cell elements comprise a positive electrode, the positive electrode having a positive substrate and a positive electrochemically active material on the positive substrate; a negative electrode, the negative electrode having a negative substrate and a negative active mass on the negative substrate, wherein the negative active mass comprises a leady oxide, a synthetic organic expander, a very fine particle barium sulfate, and plurality of conductive carbons; and an absorbent glass mat separator between the positive plate and the negative plate. Electrolyte is provided within the container. A negative electrode for a lead-acid battery and a battery having improved performance are also disclosed.

摘要: A battery terminal bushing is disclosed. The battery terminal bushing comprises a body having an insertion end and an exterior end opposite the insertion end. One or more sealing rings surround the body between the insertion end and the exterior end. A terminal post connector segment is provided on the insertion end of the body. An anti-torque pattern is provided on one or more surfaces of the body configured to engage and be contained within the battery housing material. A lead acid battery comprising the battery terminal bushing is also disclosed.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to a battery module having a housing and a stack of battery cells disposed in the housing. Each battery cell has a battery cell terminal and a battery cell vent on an end of each battery cell, and the battery cell vent is configured to exhaust effluent into the housing. The battery module has a vent shield plate disposed in the housing and directly along an immediate vent path of the effluent, a first surface of the vent shield plate configured to direct the effluent to an opening between the shield plate and the housing, and a second surface of the vent shield plate opposite the first surface. The battery module also has a venting chamber coupled to the opening and at least partially defined by the second surface and a vent configured to direct the effluent out of the battery module.

摘要: A battery system includes a lithium ion battery configured to couple to an electrical system, and a battery management system configured to electrically couple to the lithium ion battery and to control one or more recharge parameters of the lithium ion battery. The battery management system is programmed with an electrochemical model, and the battery management system is configured to monitor parameters of the lithium ion battery, and to control the one or more recharge parameters of the lithium ion battery based on the electrochemical model and the one or more monitored parameters. The electrochemical model determines lithium plating reaction kinetics at an anode of the lithium ion battery, determines a quantity of plated lithium at the anode of the lithium ion battery, or both, and indicates a relationship between the one or more monitored parameters and the lithium plating reaction kinetics, the quantity of plated lithium, or both.

摘要: The present disclosure includes an automotive battery system that uses switching devices to increase operational performance and reliability. The battery system includes a battery cell, a primary switching device electrically coupled to a terminal of the battery cell, and a secondary switching device electrically coupled to the terminal of the battery cell and in parallel with the primary switching device. The primary switching device includes an electromechanical switching device that enables charging or discharging of the battery and generates a boosted voltage. A secondary switching device includes a solid-state switching device and a diode, electrically coupled in series, which detect short circuit conditions in a power-efficient manner and remove the short circuit condition by using the boosted voltage to actuate the armature. Furthermore, parallel switching devices work together to deliver appropriate amounts of power as required by an electrical device, increasing the performance, reliability, and life-span of a battery system.
