    摘要: Encapsulation molding equipment includes individual mold bases each having an elongated shallow recess which receives strip-like carriers supporting semi-conductor chips and like objects for encapsulation. Cavity inserts having various numbers of cavities of different size and dimension individual to carriers having like numbers of chips of a range of size and dimension fit over the strips with each cavity on an insert surrounding the chip to be encapsulated. Gate and vent passages are formed on the surface of the insert spaced away from the mold base member for supply of resin from a central resin receptacle. The mold is completed by an upper mold insert plate which closes the mold and effects a seal between the mold parts and provides for delivery of encapsulating resin to the cavities in the cavity inserts. Each mold base has a plurality of recesses, each of which receives a carrier strip and a cavity insert.

    摘要: A gas venting system is connected to a downstream side of a gas vent valve through a gas exhaust line. An electromagnetic valve and a suction unit are connected to the gas exhaust line. A pressure switch is directly connected to the gas exhaust line to detect the pressure variation within the line. By the suction through the suction unit and the opening of the electromagnetic valve, the gas exhaust line is decompressed. If the line has a perforation, the pressure does not reach a predetermined pressure. If clogging occurs, the pressure reaches a predetermined pressure while the metal molds are open and the gas vent valve is open. Thus, accurate detection to the defects can be achieved regardless of the state of the metal molds and the internal volume of a vacuum tank.

    摘要: An apparatus for high frequency molding by injecting a liquid plastic material under pressure into a mold, while simultaneously venting the inside cavity of the mold, optionally by applying to suction. In order to overmold and/or mold onto a prisoner a part in the form of a closed loop, a sealing insert (i) is disposed between the openings into the mold for its injection nozzle (17) and its venting nozzle (18). The shape of the insert corresponds to the profile of the mold, and the insert is made of a material having the same nature as the injected plastic material, such that the insert melts and is welded to the molded or overmolded part when the high frequency electric field is applied by means of an appropriate generator. The injection and the venting nozzle are controlled by respective double action actuator devices fitted with pistons and piston rods made of a material which does not exhibit dielectric loss, and forming a removable unit assembly. The invention is applicable to manufacturing shaped parts, in particular for car manufacture.

    摘要: Method and system are disclosed for making a hollow-shaped body from molten resin wherein the method includes the step of cutting a hole through the resin after it is cooled and into a fluid aperture formed during a fluid injection step which distributes the molten resin over the interior surfaces of a mold of the system. The fluid aperture is in communication with the interior of the resulting hollow-shaped body and is preferably located in the runner or sprue of the mold. The fluid is preferably a gas, such as nitrogen. In each of the disclosed embodiments of the invention, a cutting member is located in the mold and has a surface which at least partially defines a resin flow path in the mold. Cutting is accomplished by moving the cutting member in a controlled fashion between a molding position and a relieving position so that the cutting member applies a cutting force to cut the hole. The cutting member includes a fluid-relieving aperture formed therein. The fluid-relieving aperture is in fluid communication with the fluid aperture in the relieving position of the cutting member to relieve the pressure through the fluid-relieving aperture. In some of the disclosed embodiments, the cutting force is a sheer force which is applied tangential to the cooled resin. In another disclosed embodiment, the cutting force is applied substantially perpendicular to the cooled resin. The cutting member is movable linearly in one embodiment and is movable in a rotary fashion in another emodiment.

The operation of the injection molding machine is controlled by a method comprising the steps of metering a predetermined quantity of molten resin to be injected by advancing the screw, closing the vent port and the injection nozzle means, retracting the screw thus forming a space in the injection nozzle means, and discharging the gases of volatile substances and moisture contained in the molten resin.

    摘要: Apparatus for producing an injection moulding of plastics material comprises means for introducing a supply of plastics material, passage means for communicating the supply means to a mould space, and means for introducing a pressurized gas into the plastics material filling the mould space whereby the gas creates a gas containing cavity in the plastics material and for thereafter relieving the gas pressure within the gas containing cavity before the mould is opened. The gas supply/pressure relieving means comprise valve means including a valve port opening directly into the mould space, for opening the gas filled cavity to the atmosphere, a valve member for closing the port, and means to supply pressurized gas to the mould while the valve member is in the port closing position to create the cavity and to maintain the valve port open to the cavity whereby, after a moulding operation has been finished, the supply of pressurized gas can be terminated and pressurized gas in the cavity in the moulding can be vented to atmosphere by opening the valve member.
