摘要:
A process and system are provided for transmitting monitoring states between respirators. The process includes the detection of and recording of monitoring states of a monitoring unit (5) of at least a first monitoring period (10) of a first respirator (2). There is an assignment of an identification to the monitoring states of the monitoring unit (5) of the at least first monitoring period (10) of the first respirator (2). There is a transmission of the monitoring states of the monitoring unit (5) of the at least first monitoring period (10) of the first respirator (2) to a second respirator (3). This is followed by a setting of the monitoring unit (5) of the second respirator (3) corresponding to the transmitted monitoring states of the monitoring unit (5) of the at least first monitoring period (10) of the first respirator (2). This is then followed by a repetition of steps for the monitoring states of the monitoring unit (5) of each additional monitoring period (10) of the first respirator (2).

A head frame apparatus is secured to a human head during maxillofacial surgery and includes devices to easily position and secure an endotracheal (breathing) tube and an anesthesia delivery circuit for the patient that reduces the likelihood that the flow of oxygen through the tube is restricted thereby reducing the risk of severe injury or death. The head frame apparatus also includes a removable reference indicator, which may be easily attached and removed while identifying a reference point of the patient's face. Also the reference indicator includes a universal joint and pointer with an attached ruler. A transport apparatus positions multiple preset reference indicators and allows for preoperative transportation and removal, while protecting the preset reference indicators from inadvertent adjustment. A bendable reference indicator used in an articulator for preoperative modeling allows for easily identifying reference points in a cast model. An orbiting segment apparatus positions a portion of a cast of a jaw in relation to a condyle ball of the articulator.

A system for collecting an anaesthetic agent, having at least one anaesthetic gas scavenging system (AGSS) for receiving exhaust gas from a plurality of sources, the exhaust gas including the anaesthetic agent to be collected, each AGSS comprising at least one power source for providing suction of the exhaust gas from the plurality of sources under negative pressure, and a central collection system for receiving the exhaust gas, the central collection system comprising at least one collector for collecting the anaesthetic agent from the exhaust gas, wherein the at least one collector is configured to adsorb the anaesthetic agent from the exhaust gas. The central collection system may be configured to received the exhaust gases from the at least one AGSS, with the central collection system being located downstream of the at least one AGSS.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for delivering respiratory treatment to a patient. For example, a treatment system may include a mechanism for delivering a positive pressure breath to a patient, and one or more limb flow control assemblies which modulate gas flow to and from the patient. Exemplary treatment techniques are embodied in anesthesia machines, mechanical ventilators, and manual ventilators.

A method for determining a chance to enable a zeroing of gas analysis is disclosed herein. The method includes emitting radiation, and receiving emitted radiation, the received radiation comprising a first wavelength range absorbed by the at least one desired gas component and one or more disturbing factor, and a second wavelength range absorbed by the disturbing factor, the first wavelength range differing from the second wavelength range. The method also includes providing to a processing unit a first signal data indicative of a concentration of the at least one desired gas component and absorption of the disturbing factor, and a second signal data indicative of absorption of the disturbing factor. The method also includes determining a stability of the first and second signal data as a function of time, and if they are substantially stable enabling the zeroing to improve a measurement accuracy.

The present invention provides methods for determining the selectivity of a sedative for an anesthetic-sensitive receptor by determining the molar water solubility of the sedative. The invention further provides methods for modulating the selectivity of a sedative for an anesthetic-sensitive receptor by altering or modifying the sedative to have higher or lower water solubility. The invention further provides methods of inducing sedation in a subject by administering via the respiratory pathways (e.g., via inhalational or pulmonary delivery) an effective amount of an anesthetic compound identified according to the present methods and at a vapor pressure less than 0.1 atm (76 mm Hg).

An anesthesia system is disclosed herein. The anesthesia system includes a sensor configured to measure an anesthetic agent concentration, and a processor connected to the sensor. The processor is configured to generate an exponential agent model based on the measured anesthetic agent concentration. The exponential agent model represents a plurality of future anesthetic agent concentrations.

The present invention provides a method and device for non-invasive anatomical and systemic cooling. The method and device provide for cooling of various bodily fluid-containing spaces or surfaces, such as mucus-containing spaces or surfaces via delivery of a dry fluid not including a coolant into or upon the mucus-containing space or surface. Exposure of such mucus to the dry fluid results in evaporation and cooling of the anatomical feature and/or systemic cooling, as intended. In this fashion, therapeutic hypothermia may be achieved to provide for neuroprotection of various organs after ischemic insult, such the brain after cardiac arrest.
