Abstract:
An object is to provide a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) porous composite film which has substantially no defect portion. There is provided the PTFE porous composite film by stretching a composite along its width direction which composite is composed of at least two overlapped films longitudinally stretched at a temperature not higher than a melting point of a sintered PTFE material, each film being obtained by paste-extruding and semi-sintering thereafter a PTFE produced by emulsion polymerization.
Abstract:
A lamp in which a stable, long-term luminous operation can be accomplished is achieved by the fact that, in a mercury lamp of the short arc type in which a cathode and an anode located next to one another within an arc tube and in which both ends of the arc tube are provided with hermetically sealed portions, the cathode is installed on the tip of a rod-shaped component which extends from a respective one of the hermetically sealed portions, the cathode having a greater outer diameter than the rod-shaped component on which it is installed, and the rear end of the cathode tapering toward the respective hermetically sealed portion.
Abstract:
An illumination device for an image input device includes a cylindrical light guiding unit, a board having a plurality of light emitting diode elements, a connection member connecting the light guiding unit with the board and a terminal reflection member formed at one end of the light guiding unit. A surface of the light guiding unit has a scattering reflection member extending linearly along the axial direction of the light guiding unit. A cylindrical reflection member is spaced around the light guiding unit and a linear space is provided in the reflection member along the axial direction of the guiding unit.
Abstract:
A magnetic thin film having excellent soft magnetic properties formed by alternately laminating a main magnetic layer and an intermediate layer, in which the main magnetic layer includes magnetic crystal grains substantially having a columnar structure which have an average height dl and an average diameter ds forming a shape ratio of 0.3.ltoreq.ds/dl.ltoreq.0.9, and the intermediate layer has saturation magnetic flux density of at least 0.1 tesla less than the main magnetic layer. The main magnetic layer and the intermediate layer having saturation magnetic flux density of at least 0.1 tesla less than the main magnetic layer are alternately laminated. It is preferable that the main magnetic layer has a thickness of 3 to 100 nm, and the intermediate layer has a thickness of 0.1 to 10 nm. In addition, it is preferable that a thickness of the entire laminated structure is in the range of about 100 nm to 10 nm. The main magnetic layer is formed mainly of magnetic crystal grains, and there are some grains which grow penetrating the intermediate layer.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A magnetic head has substrate(s) having a thermal expansion coefficient nearly equal to that of a soft magnetic film formed thereon, and the substrate has a composition consisting of .alpha.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, or a ceramic composition containing 57-96 mol % of MgO, 2-41 mol % of NiO and 2-41 mol % of TiO.sub.2, and the soft magnetic film is an amorphous alloy film.
Abstract:
A heavy duty pneumatic bias tire having a thick case gauge is disclosed, which comprises a carcass of a bias structure composed of a plurality of carcass plies each containing organic fiber cords and a plurality of bead rings spaced from each other in each of bead portions of the tire, both end portions of a plurality of the carcass plies being turned-back around each of the bead rings from the inside to the outside of the tire. In the tire of this type, the ends of the carcass plies turned-back around the bead rings except the axial innermost bead ring are positioned in the outside of the region "C" between the planes "A" and "B" in each of sidewall portions of the tire.
Abstract:
A method for producing an amylose-containing rayon fiber, comprising the steps of: mixing an aqueous alkaline solution of amylose with viscose to obtain a mixed liquid, spinning the mixed liquid to obtain an amylose-containing rayon fiber, and bringing the amylose-containing rayon fiber into contact with iodine or polyiodide ions, thereby allowing an amylose in the amylose-containing rayon fiber to make a clathrate including the iodine or polyiodide ions, wherein the amylose is an enzymatically synthesized amylose having a weight average molecular weight of 3×104 or more and 2×105 or less. A method for collecting iodine from brackish water with high efficiency utilizing the amylase-containing rayon fibers.
Abstract:
There is provided a PDP in which the structure of the periphery of a protective film is improved, excellent secondary electron emission property is exhibited, and improved efficiency and increased life can be expected. There is further provided a PDP in which occurrence of a discharge delay at the time of driving is prevented, and exhibition of high quality image display performance can be expected even in a high definition PDP that is driven at a high speed. Specifically, a crystalline film containing Sr in CeO2 in a concentration of 11.8 mol % to 49.4 mol % inclusive is formed on the surface of dielectric layer on the discharge space side as surface layer (protective film) having a thickness of about 1 μm. High γ fine particles having secondary electron emission property higher than those of protective film are arranged thereon.
