摘要: According to one embodiment, a magnetic sensor includes first to sixth shields, first and second magnetic layers, a first member, and first to fourth terminals. The second magnetic layer is provided between the first magnetic layer and the second shield. The second magnetic layer is between the fifth shield and the sixth shield in the second direction. The second magnetic layer is electrically connected to the fifth shield and the sixth shield. The first member includes a first region and a second region. The first region is provided between the third shield and the first magnetic layer. The second region is provided between the first magnetic layer and the fourth shield.

摘要: A method provides a magnetic write apparatus. The method includes providing a pole including a pole tip, a yoke, a pole bottom and a pole top. The pole is seam free and formed vertically in a direction from the pole bottom toward the pole top. At least one coil for energizing the pole is also provided. In some aspects, providing the pole may include removing a portion of an intermediate layer to form a trench therein. The trench has a shape and location corresponding to the pole, a bottom, a top and sides. A conductive layer is deposited in the trench and on a top surface of the intermediate layer. Insulating layer(s) are provided on the sides of the trench. Only part of the conductive layer on the trench bottom is exposed. Pole material(s) are grown on the exposed portion of the conductive layer to provide the pole.

摘要: A method includes depositing a layer of pole material on a substrate. The layer of pole material has a bottom surface that is adjacent to the substrate and a top surface that is opposite the bottom surface. A masking material is deposited over a portion of the top surface. Material from the pole material unprotected by the masking material is removed to form a write pole having first and second side walls. At least a portion of a trench formed by removal of the material from the layer of pole material is filled with a sacrificial material. The mask and a portion of the write pole at the top surface are removed to form a beveled trailing edge surface. The sacrificial material is then removed. Front shield gap material is deposited over the beveled trailing edge surface and over portions of the side walls.

Based on a comparison of the first and second recording measurements to a predetermined quantity, either the first writer or the second writer is selected to be operational in the data storage device.

摘要: A row bar for forming magnetic heads includes a row of magnetic head forming portions each having a magnetic head and a cutting portion adjacent to the magnetic heads. A row of bonding pads and a first ELG pad are provided at the magnetic head, a second ELG pad is provided at the cutting portion, both of the first and the second ELG pads are adapted for contacting with a probe during lapping process, and a conductive structure that is higher than surfaces of the first and the second ELG pads is formed at peripheries of the first and the second ELG pads respectively. Due to the conductive structures, a probe used in lapping process will be prevented from shifting from the ELG pads to ensure a stable contact, thereby obtaining efficient and accurate resistance measurement.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a magnetic core module in a magnetic head, the magnetic core module and the magnetic head. The method for manufacturing the magnetic core module includes: a process for placing a magnetic core group in a holder mold cavity as an insert; and a process for injection-molding in the holder mold cavity. A method for manufacturing the magnetic core module allows the magnetic core group and the holder to be integrally injection-molded with a method of injection molding which uses the magnetic core group as an insert. The method simplifies the process of manufacturing a magnetic head to improve production efficiency, and saves labor and production costs. Further, the method prevents failures such as positional displacement and scattering of magnetic cores, which tends to occur when assembling thin and small magnetic cores, and ensures an ideal yield for a product.
