    摘要: An implantable rotary sealless blood pump is provided. The pump includes a housing having an inlet tube on one end and an impeller casing on the other end. A rotor is mounted for rotation within the housing, with the rotor having an elongated shaft portion and an impeller attached to the shaft portion. The impeller is located within the impeller casing. Radial magnetic bearings are carried by the shaft portion and radial magnetic bearings are carried by the housing for maintaining the shaft portion of the rotor within the inlet tube of the housing. A rotor motor includes a plurality of permanent magnets carried by the impeller and a motor stator including an electrically conductive coil located within the housing. A ring of back iron is carried by the impeller to aid in completing a flux return path for the permanent magnets. A plurality of hydrodynamic thrust bearings are located outside of the axis of rotation of the rotor. The impeller uses large axially thick blade sectors with narrow blood channels extending through the impeller, to minimize hemolysis and to increase the working surface of the blades.

    摘要: A disc drive cartridge is disclosed comprising a central actuator arm pivot hub mounting one magnetic pole, which in turn rotates within and overlaps a u-shaped upright base and sleeve supporting a second non-aligned magnetic pole. The system relies on the radial repulsive forces of the separate magnetic poles to achieve significant radial stability; in certain embodiments, attractive forces between axially aligned magnetic poles or a magnetic pole and a sleeve of high permeability magnetic material are also utilized to enhance the axial stability of the system. The rotating hub supports on one side one or more actuator arms and on the other side a coil of a voice coil motor, so that this magnetic bearing can be the central pivot for a very small compact and low noise disc drive cartridge.

Magnetic and mechanical properties are developed through an annealing heat treatment which is performed after the alloy has been mechanically worked and machined to final shape.

Being an integral structure, the sensor provides voltages representative of a relative shift in position of the actuator's armature and pole piece from the neutral or base position and represents the actual position between pole piece and armature.     摘要: A machine tool spindle is supported at its spindle nose in a front, rolling element mechanical anti-friction thrust and radial support bearing means. The middle and rear end of the spindle is supported in a magnetic radial rear bearing and further supported at a generally mid-position of the spindle by magnetic radial mid bearing. The two magnetic radial bearings provide radial suspension of the spindle and permit the spindle to slide freely.
